Time To Hear About Road Kills!
Time To Hear About Road Kills!
Hello, Guys and Gals! I am a proud owner of the Ruff Riding SRT-6. I have owned a RX-8, '04 350z Track and a '05 S2000. These cars are all hot. I just wanted something that would stand out. I know that the 350z is faster than the S2000, the S2000 is faster than the RX-8. How about a '05 STI or a '06 350z Track (300 hp), both cars have air filter and exhaust upgrades. I have a little something too. Down to the story, I was able to meet both cars on the highway, and just my luck the two guys are following each other. I catch up and slow down to their speed which is 60 mph. If you guys know like I know, the SRT-6 is linear and doesn't slap you back like a WS6 or Camaro SS. You get the picture. We are on a three lane highway with room for only two lanes, there is traffic in the slow lane. (Perfect for us!) I line up with the STI, 350 is behind us, about a car length...we do the three beeps and go...I leave the Auto in Drive mode...We go at it and we both leave almost at the same time, I am already ahead by half a car length, the STI responds well to exhaust and intake!!! The 350z is getting broken off, by 70, STI is falling back fast, NOW by 80 mph, they both must have given up, because they were damn near two to three bus lengths back. This is not a fair fight by any means, I am looking at going against a C5, M3, Camaro SS, WS6 and 06 GTO. These cars with light mods or stock would be a dream race! Anybody have any real races or just for fun races like me???
Re: Time To Hear About Road Kills!
I own a WS-6 and a SRT-6. The SRT-6 is faster out of the hole and to 60 but from a fast roll the WS-6 just pulls and keeps pulling. I also have a G35 coupe (350Z in a tie). It carves corners even beater than the 350Z according to the mags. So don't race one those in the corners!! The SRT-6 is just fun and very quick off the line and great in the corners.
Re: Time To Hear About Road Kills!
The only car I've had mess with me is a Porsche Carrera 4.
It was late at night on a 4 lane divided hwy with some stop lights. My buddy and I were driving along minding our own business when this younger guy about our age, comes flying up on us, pulls along side and revs at me then takes off weaving though some cars, lol.
Well guess what, a light up ahead just happened to turn red and here he is sitting at it, so now is his chance to prove himself after instigating it!
I looked over, he looked at me and we nod, we both pick up the rpms a little just before the light turned and then we're off...
Needless to say I put him in his place...about 5 cars behind me all the way to about 85 mph then I backed off.

Re: Time To Hear About Road Kills!
Well, I wish I could be apart of the SRT brotherhood, but I just can't afford it. SO I just push my little Limited as far as it will let me!
So far I have street raced a Porsche Boxer, Lincoln MK8, S2000 and a turbo Lotus.
the Porsche and I met up at a stop light, he gave me some stink eye so I figure I'd show him what the XF can do. non the less I out pulled him of the line all the way up to 75 until we came into some corners where I blew him away in there too, all stock suspension on both cars. So IMO don't waste your money on a base model boxster!
As for the Lincoln, I also out pulled him off the line with about half a car length everytime I grabbed a gear. Then the driver of the MK8 started driving too crazy by cutting people off and weaving in and out of traffic so I let him go ahead and pass me. He was about ten car lengths in front when traffic cleared up, so I down shifted and he saw me coming for him, he was on the gas hard , and must have downshifted his auto and over revved it, loosing most of his torque, this is where I just reeled in that big 'ol fish and slowly passed him by. I managed to get a good look at the guy while passing him, It was an old man about 70 years old, hahaha amazing ay! crazy old koot!!
as for the S2000, I ran into this guy going home around midnight. we had a nice straight stretch about 1.5 miles. I was just cruising along at about 40 mph when I see this guy come up on me real fast then slows into my blind spot, where he just creped up slowly. I was like eh, ok let's do this. I got the jump on him cause no one beeped their horn. I down shifted wot, and he stuck with the same gear, all I hear was that chainsaw v-tec growl it's guts out in my rear blind spot for a good 1/4 mile. never saw the guy until I slowed down to pull in for a hamburger at Burger king. He just kept going ***** out down the road, haha
And the Turbo Lotus, I don't recommend racing them, I beat that guy off the line for about 120 feet, but I was dropping the clutch too hard and the T/C doesn't like it when I abuse the clutch so it kept kicking in with the rev limiter and so I got smoked there. I still would of got beat by him even with the TC disconnected,
Lotus specs are about 2,500 lbs. and with the toyota turbo motor he was probably pushing 240-260 hp. To tell you the truth, I think he was sand bagging me at the start too.

I can't find the weights so no power to weight figures there.
The S Cabriolet is equipped with a standard 3.8-liter, H6, 355-horsepower engine, now that might be a little harder for the SRT to beat.

Re: Time To Hear About Road Kills!
I still think the coupe SRT-6 can nudge the SS on the highway, 90 lbs lighter than SRT-6 roadster...put it in man. mode and have revs above 4500 rpms and that SHOULD stop that pushrod from jumping in front...I tried getting that pushrod effect at 4k rpm, just not the same until 4.5k to 5k rpms. Thanks for listening!

Not only does the Carrera 4 have a little less hp and torque then the stock SRT-6, but it is also heavier...
Oh and not to mention I have the Renntech Performance package.
Bring on that Carrera S!
Re: Time To Hear About Road Kills!
I have an automatic SRT-6 and apparently the 6-7 people I torched on the blvd. last Saturday night haven't come up against the SRT-6. The only modification that I've done to my car is K & N air filters and a satellite radio, ha...
I'm not sure about all the specs on the cars I took off the line, but they were fast, but not fast enough. This one guy in a custom Camaro pulled up to the light after I embarrassed him and said "Dude, what the hell do you have under the hood?" I told him, I don't know, I just put gas and oil in it.
The one guy who took me off the line was the customized 400+ HP Camaro that sounded like a monster truck. Frankly, I could care less because this car looks sweet and quietly earns respect. For me, it's just fun.
