I did look at them, I traded my XLR in for a 300C course they through in a Crossfire! The entire door is leather along with the console lid and console on the XLR. They are put together very very good. I like the Crossfire and have put 8,000 miles on it in 3 months and I think its a great car for 19K-27K. Not 35K-40K. That's why at the reduced numbers they are selling. I must not be the only one to think this.

You know, I really don't want this tangent to go on and on, but this is my last point to be made on the XLR...If it's interior is so high quality, then why is it that every car magazine I read call it's interior not worthy of it's price tag? Oh well. It sounds like a strong statement, and it really is (sorry for that), but let's not get to worked up on this issue.

The autostick feature in the SRT-6 is basically worthless.
Re: Ha! I found someone to put a stick in the SRT-6
Actually it is true in 99% of the cases that a stick will be faster than an auto in the hands of a good driver. The only examples that I can think of that this is not true on are exotics (e.g. Ferrari) and the new 997 Turbo Porsche.
Things to remember with a stick are that it suffers from less drive line loss and if you know how to drive it you have much more control and can get a better launch. Better being defined as a fast time.

well as much as I like an manual trans its really not practical to have one in stop and go traffic. I was under the impression a auto trans is faster because the gears are always engaged. when you shift a manual trans there is that millisecond of disengagement of the drive train. then to spend another $15-20,000 for the upgrade then void your warranty, does not sound like a really good ideal. but if that is what you want, I am sure it would be nice but if your going to spend $60,000.00 for a car I would get something else that is already a matched system, instead of trying to make something else work. just my thoughts, kevin

Considering that the automatic Corvette is slower than the Manual Corvette I would find it very hard to believe that the Auto GTO with the same engine & trans is faster than the manual.

I have a '69 Pontiac 428 in my '78. They only made them '67, '68 and '69. I've owned the '78 since '81 it was my first car!!

but as far as a stick in an srt6, if it was offered that's what i would own. so i think it would be pretty cool...as far as 20k, i would buy an '04 like mine, and use that 20k to put a nice twin turbo setup on the car.
