I hear Renntech mod will be about $1,000 more than yours and they promise only 45 hp gain with a 60 ft/lbs of torque. Just curious and still hoping to get some decent gains with having to spend a whole lot of money. Not knocking you or your company but just wondering what else you may offer and how much it would cost.
Let me clarify that the gains you see on the dyno is 37 RWHP (rear wheel horsepower). It's important to differentiate that from crank hp. If we convert to crank hp (which is what RENNtech claims), the gains before any drivetrain loss is 45 hp. So $1,499 for 40-45 hp gain is a great upgrade on this car. On top of that, we have a number of other mods, including:

- ECU upgrade - $990
- Phenolic Spacer Kit (reduction of intake charge temps) - $149
- SL55 intake splitter upgrade (not tested on SRT6 yet) - $245
- Performance Plug Wires - $349
- Performance Spark Plugs -
- Performance Air Filters - $59 ea (included in SL55 intake kit)
- Performance Header (don't think this will fit an SRT6)

So lets throw a theoretical out there.

Pulleys, ECU, Spacer kit and SL55 intake setup. What kind of overall gains are you seeing with those changes? RWHP is fine...

Might have to start saving, as a total package that isn't bad really...

Three dyno's from a C32 we did: stock vs. stage 2 vs. stage 3+. Note stage 3+ is over 500 hp! The mods you listed would put you somewhere in the range of 325-335 hp at the wheels.

So 100 ish HP gain at the crank then eh? hmmm... That's good for 33% gain in HP...

Ok on my list now.

Thanks for your time Simon.

To bad no one puts out larger cams and cnc ported heads with bigger valves for the 3.2 motor.

Where's the Dyno graph EVO-SPorts?
There are larger cams out in the market. They are not the cheapest cams around but at least they are made from fresh billet stock and not some reground crap.

Yes, in the domestic market you can get headers fairly cheap. Now look around the Euro market and you will not find them for nearly that price. The shops I have talked to will be more than happy to fab up a custom set of headers for ~$4k assuming you can leave the car with them for ~2 weeks.

Have to say Evo rather indulgent with you. Too busy to follow a link to a graph?

So, are you saying that an SRT6 can achieve 500 hp?

Sure, anything is possible. Since we have never done it on this car, I don't know what the level of effort would be to get there. As a side, our C32 headers will NOT fit the SRT6. I believe headers for an SLK32 should, but we don't offer an SLK32 header application.

No one truly offers a set of headers for the SLK32 or Crossfire (at least not that I am aware of). RENNtech and Kleeman will fab up a pair but I do not know any vendor you can contact, order, and actually have them fit right out of the box.

Dampened pulley looks good.

That is correct. We can fab up the header as well...just takes $$$ Unfortunately, not enough SLK32's or demand.

Phenolic Spacer Kit (reduction of intake charge temps) - $149.

Simon, Could you give us some info on what benefits this would have for us? What is involved in installing? Any HP gains?

Thanks, John

Do you have a good shot of the SRT6 engine bay showing the air boxes and surge tanks?

Any more info on all of this. I am looking at buying a SRT, and looking to spend about 4k in upgrades. For this amount, what would be the best aftermarket parts for the most 1/4 gains?

I am trying to see how far I can go, as the other option is buying another Z and having a TT installed.

Thanks!
