Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
Sounds to me like the 'hiccup' I get...but definitely not the I/C pump.
If the car doesn't hesitate beyond 3,000 rpms, your pump is likely fine.
My car has this 'hiccup' when it is cold, or sometimes when accelerating from a stop. I installed a sprint booster and took care of it. I recently un-installed my sprint booster to let a friend try it, and my hiccup is back. That leads me to believe it is drive-by-wire related.

They were replaced in both SRT's.
My SRT has a bit better acceleration then my daughter's SRT. It just seems stronger. It was like that before I put the sprint booster in mine. She gets better gas mpg then I do though.

They aren't cheap (new), but they definitely make the car feel like it has more pep out of the hole. There has been a lot of arguement about it, and there is a well written review on it telling how it works. It is posted under Simon's thread regarding Sprint Booster Review (search for it - within the last 3 pages of SRT6 forum).
99% of the owners like the results. I'd say .5% of them that DON'T Like the results feel that it is too aggressive (too touchy). The other .5% just weren't impressed. Makes me wonder if their was functioning correctly.
I have had mine off the car for the last week while a friend borrowed it to see if he wanted to buy it. I haven't had a chance to get it back and re-install. I will say that the car is a different car without it, and that the 'hiccup' and throttle lag is much more noticeable.

Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
I think I may have fallen victim to this problem. My car only has 1,600 miles, but sometimes when I floor the car, it seems like the supercharger doest not engage right away. I've experienced this while racing several of my friends. I'd punch it and the car just wouldn't go or pull hard like normal. If I stayed in it, as the car sluggishly increased speed, it felt like the charger would kick in a few seconds later???

Your symptoms sound just like the two I drove that DID have the problem.

Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
Looks like my Crossfire is getting it too. The bad news is my is the LIMITED version and not the SRT6! It happened twice yesterday when i was moving off from a stop. I does take off but the pedal stopped responding when it reached about 30 mph... can it be the IC Pump too?
Cheers,
Eddy

Hello,This message is to srt6_crossfire. I took my srt6 to tuttle click in orange county. They ordered a supercharger today. How long did it take to get yours installed? Did you get the intercooler replaced also? And finally is everything still working ok?Thanks.

i/c pump failed on a different occassion and i think took almost two weeks before i got my car back.
both parts are still working okay... other parts have failed though which i'm used to on this car.
why are you getting your s/c replaced?
Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
Thanks for the quick reply. I was having problems with the SC giving the sluggish performance. I took it to the dealer and told them about the intercooler problem.Their lead tech found a problem with the SC ,but had to call someone in Detroit. They called me today and said they ordered a new SC. I am in a rental car now, will they pay for a rental for the 5 weeks? Thanks

how do you like tuttle click's service? are they any good?
Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
I'm guessing that your supercharger clutch failed. The clutch and supercharger are combined into just one assembly so if the clutch fails the whole supercharger/clutch setup has to be replaced. My clutch failed and it took a week for a replacement assembly to get in and another four days or so for the dealer to install it.
Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
Hey all here is a post I made today...
"Hey everyone,
I have had my SRT for a year now and it has around 30k miles. I love the car. I do not abuse it that much and I live in Boston... The reason I posted this thread is because I have had some issues lately. I do not know if the cold weather is causing the problems as the temperture here is around 11 degrees.
When I am on the highway driving normal you will notice the car jerk real quick for a second and when you hit the pedal to accelerate the car almost seems like it is stuck in gear (reving up slow) or the supercharger is not kicking in...then when you wait a little the car will act normal and accelerate with no issues.
Not sure if this sounds like a clutch problem...or if there is a leak... Do you think it is due to the cold weather or should I take it to the dealer to get checked out?
Many thanks in advance!"
I do not have a check engine light and it is cold as hell in Boston...I do not see how the SC could be really hot...since this occurs as soon as I get on the highway with only 5 minutes driving...
How good are the Chrysler dealerships or should I go to a mercedes?
