Thanks EJ, I just stopped by Renntech as they are right down the street, and I looked at a cat back system they are going to try to get to work while they are installing their pulley kit and ECU flash. I spoke to him about the problems we were having with the aux water pump and he said they had replaced the d stock one with a higher capacity one that was more reliable too. So I invited him to the forum so you may see him here over the next few days. I ask him to get the part number and price for that other pump. I did not have an opportunity to make a video of the failure as it has been raining here and they just replaced my pump today. They do make some amazing but expensive three pc forged wheels 20x10 in the rear and 20x9 front. They were a work of art but I am not sure how that size would work or if it would have an impact on ECU/performance.

EJ, I am not sure as it turns out these are custom Cat Back units made for the SLK32 but they say they should fit, I will take some pics in the morning and post in the PM. I hope I am doing the right thing in getting the Renntech pulley kit and ECU flash as I think $3450 is a little rich with installation, then add sales tax. I told them to sell it to my son's shop in Ga so they are given me a 15% discount as they would consider him a dealer/shop jobber. I hope this gives me the punch I am looking for, by the way after the chrysler dealer put the new aux water pump in it was like a new car, sweet.

Well gang, it is now JIMBOO's turn to relate his SUPERCHARGER COOLANT PUMP EXPERIENCE...It all began in the early weeks of July past; buzzing home on I-95 here in deadly Ft.Lauderdale in the middle of a surface of the sun day. Nail passing gear...FLAT response, wait a half a mile...ZOOM! Sooo, on to the FORUM "SOMETIMES SLUGGISH ACCELERATION'' topics...oh no,me too! WOW 14,500 miles and here it comes. To the dealer...Couldn't replicate the problem; but the techie was nice, and we went out and, LO AND BEHOLD, THE PROBLEM APPEARED! Long story short, 2 weeks at the dealer (waiting for part), repairs under warranty with no charge, and all is well again. I now quote from the labor invoice sheet:
DRIVABILITY-VEHICLE LOOSES POWER ON ACCELERATION; COOLANT PUMP INOP AT TIMES CAUSING HIGH TEMP AND SUPERCHARGER TO SHUT DOWN-AIR SENSOR OUT OF SPEC'S (PO111) REPLACE COOLANT PUMP AND AIR INTAKE TEMP SENSOR; ROAD TEST VEHICLE.
PARTS ... QTY ... FP-NUMBER ... DESCRIPTION ... UNIT PRICE ...

I have a noob question: Is this pump belt driven or is it electric? Tech assuming it's belt driven but I was questioning that if under the fender is the access area, could that be. Sounded like a electrical connector (electric power or sensor? which?) and two coolant lines were involved. Which side of the engine is this pump located? Tech was concerned about working on the hot engine (don't blame him) but wonder if the pump is not integral to the block itself.
Pictures anyone? I'll show them to the tech, If he's like me he can use all the help and info he can get. He's very open minded and receptive to info. The best kind of tech. I know he'll probably have service info when he's ready to put the pump in, but thought I'd ease his mind in advance as he thinks this is an all day or TWO job.

Took my daughter's cf to the dealer to replace the foglights (TSB) and the to fix the sluggish acceleration. I copied the earlier posts and faxed it to the svc rep, He give it to the tech and the tech wants to say it is the transmission still. I think they are FOS, but I am not the tech and I am driving a new Sebring for awhile, till they figure out that the problem is what I sent to them... or whatever.

Coolant pump runs after engine shutdown for short time?
Are the auxiliary coolant pumps on the SRT-6 supposed to run for 5-20 seconds after engine shutdown like the SLK32 and C32 AMG pumps reportedly do? This was listed as a final check out of the new pump on that Benz World IC coolant pump replacement thread:

If so, then one verification of failure could be lack of the pump running just after the engine is shutdown. Anyone confirm or refute this? This assumes the common failure mode of the pump is the electric pump motor not running, ever. Do they just burn up the windings (open up) or do they mechanically freeze up?
We need better diagnostics of this pump failure to convince some dealerships, based on the dealer problems owners have related in this thread.

The SAGA continues! Picked up my daughter's car just now. The service mgr can't duplicate the problem. He drove it hot and cold (put 15 miles on the car) and could not recreate the "sluggish acceleration". I took him for a test drive and of course I couldn't make it happen either. Rather frustrating to say the least.
On a positive note , they did replace the foglights under the TSB notes.
The car is dirty, so I will have something to do when I get home tonight.

I'm trying to understand this reoccurring problem and relate to it. Only thing I've noticed is sometimes going 60 mph I'll gun the acceleration hard as the RPM's shoot up it takes a couple seconds for a response then bam it kicks in and I'm flying. Not sure if there's a problem or not?

Good luck next trip to the dealer. Those pumps are failing in large numbers. Some probably haven't figured it out yet but have bad pumps.
Anyone know if the electric aux. pump runs continuously when engine is running or is it cycled thermostatically? Notation on Benz World thread indicated the SLK C32 system had the pump running 5-20 seconds AFTER the engine is shut down. Any SRT pumps doing that?

Not the same problem. The sprint booster would most likely eliminate the lag in acceleration you are experiencing. Or your transmission fluid is low causing it to slip. The first time I took the car in they said the trans fluid was low and I was reminded of that today, but it was fine.
