Took it to the dealer and they didn't see any problem with the IC pump. I'm guessing it was heat soak that I experienced that day.

I wonder though if any of the folks with the Renntech Stage I kit experienced any heat soak. Have you Steve H?
Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
I've had the same slug issue at around 5,000 miles or so. The car drove perfect before then, I've reached speeds of 140+ with no problems and was happy that I could do it even though I would never need to. I drove normal for a few weeks 80-100 mph until a Benz decided to flex his muscle on the parkway. I'm guessing it was a high end E class.
Cruising at 80 mph I decided to give him a run for his money, but instead he blew past me going over 130 like it was nothing. My car wouldn't go past 115 for the life of me. RPMs shot up but now power to the wheels, tranny wouldn't downshift either. The next few days I noticed the car would shift erratically at times (thats why I hate automatics).
I took the car to the dealer, they fixed the car within a few hours. They said some O rings went bad causing a dip in fluid which made the tranny act funny. They replaced the O rings and a plug of some sort. I was so happy thinking I can take on BMWs again. After 40 sec of driving I got the same clunk in shifting. I figured I'd wait a few days to see what happens.
The car shifts fine but at highway speeds I sometimes lose the acceleration, especially coming out of a toll. When I try to hit the 120 mark thats when I get that erratic feeling. Also cruising at 60 mph I get an occasional hiccup in speed. After reading this thread I realized it must be a supercharger issue because the RPMs don't fluctuate during these anomalies. The dealer cant road test with me because the speed limits are only 55 and my problems happen at 80+.
I have the service manual on cd; I'll see what that says before I go to the dealer again with this thread. Hopefully I get my power back, as stated in an earlier post its very dangerous to overtake a vehicle when you don't have the power to do so.

Wow... I think that I need to have the S/C system checked. I used to own a Lotus Esprit V8 TT and when I dropped it to 3rd at 60 (4,000 rpm) and floored it, then it was like someone launched YOU in a sling shot.
It seems to provide some boost, during acceleration, but I was wondering why it took so log to get from 60 to 80 in my SRT. I thank the forum for sharing that the S/C or the I/C may be an issue.

Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
I need some advice, I have recently had my SRT6 in the dealership shop four time in the past month for problems with the supercharger not performing the way it should be. They claim it is operating to factory specs, but I know it is not. Today I could not even get the car to go above 115 mph, it would not go any faster and I have had it over 150 in the past. The car has 30k miles on it now, and I have never had any problem until recently. Water leaked in around the rear air spoiler base during heavy Florida summer rains, the water playing hell with the computer in the floor in the back of the car that control the door locks and security system so on. They fixed that problem, but the supercharger continues to persist. I have good performance at time and other times whether starter from a stop light or trying to pass someone on the inter-state the car has NO power at all. I can put the peddle tp the floor and I get more response if I get out and pushed it. Please help. Today when I ran through the gears, I was in manual mode shifting around 5,500 - 6k RPM when I reached 115 MPH I felt almost a blow-out like the supercharge just stopped, the motor had no more to give, like it was programmed to stop at that speed.
Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
Thanks for the quick reply, I have been reading this thread and I am surprised that so many have experienced this and the dealerships seem to know nothing about the problem! Also, are there diagnostic codes that will show this as the problem over a supercharger clutch? I am taking the tech for a test drive Monday and I told them I wanted them to hookup their diagnostic computer in the car so I car show them a base line reading of when the car is working and then when it is not working, hoping to document the problem. but if no codes come up they will come back and say the supercharger is meeting factory spec, but I of course do not have that spec to show a side by side comparison. I can understand this causing the sluggish acceleration, but why would it keep me from topping out above 115 mph? Thanks again.

Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
Great feedback, is this limp mode something that can be picked up with the shops diagnostic computer while we are driving? It seems to me if this water pump in the sc intercooler is the problem, then perhaps putting the same part back in is not the solution! Is there a better part avail.?
Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
I think I may have to get a lawyer invalved, these Aholes do not know this car. They refuse to hear what come out of my mouth. When I told the advisor in the shop that I drove it and it went into limp mode at 115mph he freaked out stating the car is not allowed to go that fast. Can you believe this guy. He said there is a rev limiter that does not allow the car to go over 115 and I told him the car could go over 150 and he looked at me as if I had three heads. He also said that the limp mode was a transmission issue, not SC one!!
Is there a way tp print this thread without doing page by page?

Re: Sometimes Sluggish acceleration
rlynes, it sounds like that technician never opened a book on vehicles once in his life before. I'd ask for a new tech or find another dealership. I got so fed up with my local dealership's idiocy that I just fixed the damn thing myself. Come to Chicago and I'll fix it for you.
Also, these cars were built for the Autobahn. They'll cruise at 150 mph all day long without a single problem.
