Default Info for a new owner

Hello, I have found an SRT-6 and am thinking about purchasing. It is a very good price and I have driven the car. I currently own a 2004 350z and was wondering if the SRT-6 has any quirks like my Z has.

I have had window and tire problems with my Z.

Any info to help with my buying is really appreciated.

Thank you.

No quirks per se...just small recall issues that you might experience. Fit and finish is much better than the 350z, an all around better car in my opinion.

Thanks for the info. I talked to the dealer today and now they are trying to play games with the rebates. Told me they would take $10,000 off but now they are saying only $3,000. I have a call into another dealer to see what they will offer.

But you are right, the interior is nice and the car seems to ride a little nicer.

Have a good 4th.

Awesome! I would tell them this is what I am going to pay for it and thats it. If they say no, walk away and let them come running!

I am not sure why one day they would honor the rebate and the next not. I guess they thought after driving the car I would not say no, but $7,000 is a little much to let them cheat me on. The 2 srt's have been on their lot for over a year and are '05 models.

I really like the car, so I am hoping that maybe the other dealership here in TN that also has 2 will give me a deal.

I have liked owning my Z but, have had way to many recalls and with my power window motors going out, that was kind of the last straw.

Wish me luck.

I agree with Steen -- if they won't take what you want to pay, just walk out and let them come running to you. The dealers are tying to pocket those rebates -- make them take the price down on the XF.

Talon, there are really good deals on SRT's right now, so don't put up with any BS from your dealer. Search autotrader and you'll see what I mean. If you don't mind a little travel to get your car, the search could well pay for the trip itself. I don't know where you live, but I have a dealer offer me 26.5K for a SRT with 3K miles (Dealer in Northern VA/DC area).

Good luck and happy 4th right back atcha!

Don't let the dealer fool you. An online check of other dealerships show them all to be around $10,000 off. Got mine for a total of $12,500 off for a 2005 srt 6.

I agree...if that dealer doesn't want to deal, then walk away. There are great deals on SRT's out there.

Thanks for all the help and advice. I found another one on the auto trader and sent an e-mail to be contacted. Hopefully they will be a little more honest.

The dealer that pulled the rebate is called Harry Lane here in Knoxville. It really surprised me that they did not beg me to take either one they had. One is out on the lot and has not been washed in a long time and even the rims have that corrosion that makes them have a reddish tint. The one they have in the showroom is gray and I like it but it has a big ding on the back fender above the wheel.

Hopefully I will get a call on Monday.

Thanks again and I will keep all of you posted.

The dealer I went to was practically begging me to take there last one. They gave me a great trade on my truck (about what it would have sold outright for), at least $15k in rebates and what not, along with paying the TT&L and a few other petty things. They told me they were losing about $800 a month with it setting on there lot.

Turboost

May I ask where you live and bought your at?

I found a demo with $9,000 of sticker but it has nav so it still has the price kind of high. It also has 4,000 miles.

Thanks

I live in Oklahoma. I bought it at a Bob Howard in Tulsa. It was there last one. There was however another dealer in Tulsa that had some SRT6's left and they were asking $32k but thats what BH was asking for the one I got too. I believe it was Don Nickel's. But like others have said, there are deals to be had on these...don't settle, especially if its in the mid to upper $30k's.

BTW mine had 250 miles when I got it.

If you're willing to go to TX these deals seemed good:
