Default Front Plate Holder Ideas

Okay everyone. I think that it's fair to say that the front plate holder for the Crossfire (My father has a 2005 Limited Roadster) is a part that is officially impossible to find. As such, I decided to ask ya'll if you managed to put the front plate on your car using a non-standard part (which I am hoping looks good and is actually available for purchase). I am sure there are many others out there who would appreciate this information as well. Please feel free to show us pictures of your ingenious MacGuyver job for how to add the front plate. Thanks so much.

I live in Texas, front plates are required. My front plate is on the passenger side floor, just laying there. Any officer that wants to see it can ask when they pull me over.
I do not drive the car much, and when I do, I am often outside the state of Texas. I've never been stopped for not having a front plate.

If I were to drive a great distance in the state, I'd put it up in the windshield area where it's visible.

I am not drilling holes in the front bumper for this.

I live in NJ. My front plate is hanging on my garage wall above my tool box. I didn't put one on my 2010 Challenger when I had that either.

Not an option here. We're in Canada and the police are sticklers for these kind of things.

Maybe you can find a front plate holder from another car. Then using a Contour Gauge Tool you could copy the contour of the bumper and see if you could trim the plate holder to match the Crossfire bumper. Just an idea.

I've gone through this business and could never find a suitable way to mount the plate, therefore it resides in the trunk.

If pulled over my response is "Officer, I'm glad you pulled me over because I've asked two of my cop friends and they did not know the answer. Some states have an exclusion that if the car did not come from the factory with a way to mount a front plate don't have to have a front plate. Do you know of Texas has that exclusion?"

Like Pizza said, I'm not drilling holes in the front end of my Classic Roadster.

That ploy may not work in Canada but may be worth a try.

I’ve never seen this in person but it always struck me as a great solution

Deployed as required by remote.

There are many to choose from, this one is from Altec Products.

You could use the front tow hook eye and put one of those screw-in plates that I see a lot of the rice burner cars run. Look on a Subaru site and you will see the WRX's use them. You would have to modify the lower grill but that might work. Here is one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/36419934320...1bece2cf7e7340

I am sure there are several on the market

Very simple and CHEAP, buy a Velcro kit and apply two pieces to the license plate, peel off the backing tape and press the license plate with the Velcro to the front of the car's bumper, NO drilling of holes required!
Go for it McGuyver!

Good for us in Alberta, front plates are not required here.

Im not sure why anyone needs a front plate. If you’re getting pulled over it’s because you’ve passed the police or the red light camera.

As if law enforcement doesn’t already have enough to do.

100%. I am in Nova Scotia, no front plate here, but this car is my Dad's and he's in Ontario, where front plates are ALWAYS required. OPP loves to ticket people without them.

As suggested by another member, I used one from a 2016-2018 Chevy Malibu. Painted it body color and it doesn't look too bad.

Amazon Amazon

If have the original Chrysler Crossfire front license plate holder still in the packaging and sealed with mounting instructions I am fairly sure. Just need to check in the attic.

I removed mine, it was loose. I bought 2 plugs and painted to match car. there was a couple small screw holes remaining, too small to plug.
