Code P0175?
Code P0175?
Soooooo quick backgrounder: ‘05 Roadster Limited, 41K miles. Previous owner put on 4K miles in 2+ years. Bought it, drove cross country 4K miles in 3+ days with zero problems. Depending on what was geographically available, I only put in 92 or 93 octane. Probably the most fun car I’ve ever had!
Back home, after it rested overnight, drove to DMV & home, about 20 miles, mostly 60-65 mph in posted 60. Runs Perfectly!! BUT, Check Engine light came on in last 10 minutes of that ride. Bought the Autel MS309 and it says: P0175, system too rich bank 2.
NO clue what that actually means or what I should do next! Ideas? Answers?
Thanks for your help!!

Re: Code P0175?
I see you posted this on the 10th and may have already corrected the issue. I googled po175 and this is what came up.
“It is important to complete the entire diagnostic process when diagnosing P0175. Many people will replace the air-fuel sensor or oxygen sensor as soon as they get a bad reading, but the root cause can also be a dirty or faulty mass airflow sensor or vacuum leak, thus causing the O2 or MAF sensor to read differently to compensate.”
I would look for the vacuum leak first and then clean the airflow sensor second.
Please let us know when you’ve located and corrected the cause of the code I would like to know what triggered it.

Re: Code P0175?
So, Finally had time to address this 0175 issue: cleaned the MAF & throttle body & then broke the retaining ring on reassembly 🙄
got a new MB retaining ring & installed
cleared code
have now put on an additional 330 miles since then & have no codes & the car runs like new! I drive mostly highway speeds (80-90mph) but some around town stuff, too (45-60)
STRANGELY - the car has always run Perfectly! Has ALWAYS run like new! Never a performance issue, only the check engine light on & that code!! Weird!
Anyway, guess I’m gonna call this one done for now & will go back to just enjoying the rides!!
Just an Awesome car!
Thank You for the MAF & throttle body advice!!
