Need to add TPMS to base 2005 roadster
Need to add TPMS to base 2005 roadster
Has anyone successfully added TPMS to their roadster? I have had two rear tires go down and cut due to loss of air pressure while driving on the interstate. Once with OEM rims and once with Foose rims. Want to add TPMS before I go thru a few more hundred dollars of tires and rims. VIN confirmed that TPMS was not installed on my 2005 base roadster. Any experience or advice from someone that has added would be appreciated. I have seem them on eBay and Tire Rack but which ones are good? Thanks!

Hi Phred -
I did have one of the retro-fit Orange Electronic TPMS setups on my minivan, worked pretty well, but did have some reliability issues. And the company seems to be retrenching from the U.S. market.
Schrader is the market leader in the U.S. and supplier for most of the OEM sensors on Crossfire, would look first at their kits (this one has wired display}:
Schrader SCH-WRK-4PC TPMS Retrofit Kit for Passenger Car and Light Truck (Hard Wired Display)

EDIT: Looking at more options on Amazon comments incline me to also point to the wireLESS display version from Schrader. This uses AA batteries to power the display (for at least several months) instead of three wires to ground, +12V, and ignition + required by the wired version. So display placement and installation greatly simplified for a few dollars more: Link: http://amzn.com/B008YQOZMG
