Default Hazard light flashing after locking the car

Before I waste anyone time I would like to point out that I do have OEM battery installed in the car which is almost dead. I will be changing it today. But with battery charged the hazard light comes on automatically for some reason and drains the battery. I am hoping its just one of the symptoms of bad battery as the tail is being naughty too.

To fix the hazard flashing is to just relock the car from fob and it stops.

Alright so changed the battery and the lights came on once again after driving it for 30min and parking it + locking the car. Went to grab a bite and saw the light flashing. Came out and saw that light were flashing and the alarm was basically sounding in muffled voice. Like the voice was trying to come out but it couldn't cause of low power to it ? Does the alarm have its own battery? anyways I locked the car with the fob and it went away. But I am just scared that it might drain my new battery so I keep on checking my car after few hours at work lol

Yes, the alarm does have it's own battery, but most are toast by now.
As to battery drain, you can remove the neg (-) battery cable and connect a multimeter between it and the neg battery post. You should see around 35 ma normal drain.
If you see a heap more, start plucking fuses till you locate the source circuit.

I always wanted to use multimeter thanks for the heads up I will check it up over the weekend. I am also doing search on the forum and I think I nailed the issue.

I am posting my find for someone else who might have this problem in future.

Crossfire Alarm Issue! - CrossfireForum.org <-- The Siren Module has the dreaded "Cricket on Crack" syndrome.

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ying-bird.html <-- Actual alarm needs to be replaced.

Part # 5124443AB

ChryslerPartsDirect.Com
Quick Order
Old Part Number: 5124443AA (replaced by newer version AB)
New Part Number: 5124443AB
Part Name: SIREN ALARM
MSRP$185.00
Online Price$129.50 (quoted on June 13,2013)

Update:

Chrysler dealer wants $291 and they don't have it in stock either. However, the part guy gave me Mercedes part number and said I can check up with them as well. I usually find Merc parts to be $100 cheaper. Part number is A2198203226.

Got off the call with Merc and they are selling it for $202 Canadian. FYI for anyone out there.
