Default Where can I go for service in S. CA?

Hey Gang... I am having an issue. I have one Chrysler dealer near me in Glendale and I cannot goto them anymore. They've done everything they can to ruin my happiness with my car, including but not limited to damaging my car. Here is an outline of the events...

We brought the car in for service and oil change, only to have the
technicians there send us on our way with the oil filter over filled.
We had to return to correct that problem.

I then brought the car in with a vandalized passenger window that had
been busted. I’d asked that they replace the window and remove all
the broken glass from inside the passenger door. Since we were
bringing the car in anyway, I’d asked the service center to also
replace the front head lamp with another I’d purchased, because the
pervious one had become fogged.

After the repairs were done, we returned home, only to find out that
evening that the new lamp that had been installed was not working
properly (Some of the lights weren’t turning on).

We returned the car to the service center for repair.

When that repair was done, we returned home to a light rain storm,
where we noticed leaking from the passenger window. After inspecting
the window closely, I noticed that the window wasn’t lining up with
the roof of the car when closed. And that the hinge of the door was
scrapping when closing. I also noticed rattling inside the door from
glass.

We returned the car to the service center for repair for the third time.

Most recently, the roof of our convertible had been sticking once the
trunk hood began to lift. We brought he car in for it’s final
inspection before the warranty was expired and were told that the roof
was sticking because of a switch that was covered under warranty. We
were also told that the rear window was coming lose and would have to
be repaired, which wasn’t covered under the warranty.

When we finally heard from the service center (after a week later), we
were told that the car had not been repaired fully and that the needed
switch was on backorder. But they had repaired the back window, at my
cost.
We were told that even though the warranty was about to expire, the
switch that needed to be replaced would still be covered under that
warranty.

Weeks went by before we were called and told that the backordered
switch had arrived. We dropped the car off again and were called a
few days later to pick the car up.

In the parking lot of the service center, we attempted to raise the
convertible top only to find that it was sticking, in the exact same
place was before. This would begin the third time the car sat at your
service center for repair on the same problem.
I also noticed that the repaired rear window was sticking out, coming
undone from the convertible top, which I was told had been repaired.

The several hundred-dollar “repair” that had been previously done to
the window looked like a hastily botched glue job. It in no way
resembled what the car had looked like previous to the repair. In
fact, it looked like the roof had been damaged by the glue.

Now my car is due for some service. Things on it still aren't arent. The headlight bulb they replaced it with doesn't seem to be focused... one of the lights points down toward the street, the other forward. I had the blinker light bulb replaced at one point? The color on them doesn't match. I swear everything they've done has been wrong. Cant believe a Chrysler dealer couldn't repair a Chrysler correctly with Chrysler parts. I refused to take it back to them but need to service the car... Any suggestions where else I can go in Southern California? Frankly at this point I'd rather drive it 100 miles out of the way to avoid the "service" center in Glendale.

Thanks for any suggestions you can give...

~Jesse

The '05 Roadsters have a ten year, 100,000 mile warranty on them due to defective rear windows - common problem.

I have letters from Chrysler for BOTH of mine telling me I'm covered. I WISH mine would fall out so I can get a free top! Search this "Crossfire Roadster" forum for a thread talking about the top warranty.

I have NO IDEA what dealer you can go to out there. Mine is out of warranty (other than the top) so if there is something I can't fix, I go to a local independent Mercedes/BMW shop that knows our cars way better than Chrysler dealers. What good is a Chrysler warranty when the car is a Mercedes?

Bad limit switch on one of the hydraulic cylinders. That's really rare, usually, the divider or "top open" switch is the one that goes....

find the local MB club

http://www.mbca.org/local-clubs-sections

and check in the resources section for an indie shop. That's how I found mine.

good luck

I agree with TomSRT - either find a good independent MB service center (I'm sure there are numerous shops in S. Cal), or call around to Chrysler dealer service depts to find one that still has a factory trained Crossfire tech. Clearly the Glendale dealer does not know how to service your car.

I contacted Chrysler about my roof... They said I wasn't covered!
