Default Cold Air Intake

I have seen some crossfires cold air intake coming off the engine with chrome pipes with the air filter pointed down toward the engine , is this enough cold air looks like it would suck the hot air off the engine . thanks JJRAY.

I should have told everyone its a 05 roaster

Those are pointless IMO... not only do they suck in hot air, but they also don't remove the biggest restrictions (screen, baffles, indirect airflow in the box)

This is the most effective one out there, by far:

NeedsWings Crossfire Naturally Aspirated Cold Air Intake System

The dual version is overkill on the N/A motor, so the single intake linked above is perfect. If you can't afford one new, you will see them pop up from time to time on here used for $250-$300.

This replaces the MAF and lower elbow entering into the throttle body as well (OE MAF sensor plugs into the NW pipe), so it's a true 3" intake from filter to manifold. No other intake comes close on this motor. Several people have made their own version, but by the time you buy a good filter, mandrel bend the pipe, teflon coat it, weld a bung in to accept the MAF sensor, and source the silicon elbows and all clamps and 3" radiator hose, you will have spent similar money for a worse looking product.

Yes, being a nuclear physicist has its perks

I've simply seen too many DIY hack jobs... Max's is certainly an exception.

Seems like an awful lot of work and $$ for very little hp gain in the n/a engine. And I like the symmetry of the engine cover and 2 factory intakes. I can see it on the SRT6 with a pulley and a tune.

Cutting nearly 1/2 sec. off the 1/4 mile in an Automatic NA car, makes it as fast as a 6 speed.
I know it doesn't sound like much, but to a drag racer, it's a real bargain. It just goes to show how "restrictive" the stock unit is.
If drag racing was important to me anymore, I'd have one on my car in a heart beat.
But it's the 1st. mod I suggest to anybody who wants to increase their Crossfire's performance.
