Fitting farewell
Fitting farewell
Well everyone I have gone and done it. I traded my beloved 2005 Graphite with Cedar roadster in on a 2009 CLK350 black cabrio.
What was truely amazing is that on my way to pick my car up I am cruising along on RT 66 into DC when I come upon a white Crossfire coupe (driven my a blonde female) and we criuse together for a couple of miles when we come up on another graphite roadster and all 3 of us traveled for a couple of miles.
I was absolutly blown away, I have had my Crossfire for 4.5 years and rarely ever seen another 1 on the road, and to have traveled even briefly with 2 others , I thought it was a fitting farewell.
When I traded my Crossfire in the dealer told me that the carfax report came back that the car had been in an accident in 6/05 and the front quarter panel had been welded to the frame, cost a bunch on the trade, but went forward with the deal anyway.
The Crossfire after 4.5 years is still a blast to drive, I loved the car but what finally got to me was the lack of space; having to put another set of tires on (4th set); and other misc repairs/service that I know would have been about $700; and no warranties left unless I bought 1. so I felt it was time to say goobye.
I want to thank everyone on this forum for years of fun and I wish you all the best with what is a truly great car to own. I will still pop in from time to time, this forum is a blast to read. thanks everyone!!!!!
