Default Mesh Grill

I got my new mesh grill installed. It is Black powder coat, did all three ( both lower bumper and main grill). Mine is the grill that SRT SIX sells. Installed well, main grill you need to bend the lower mounting tabs up just a bit, so the grill goes lower in the space. Getting old one out was very easy, just four screws and a little moving around, came right out. Lower grills were a little harder. You have to look it over to see what the instructions say and mean, then it makes sense. Just be careful of the little sensor in the drivers side grill, I think it is the outside temp sensor, but not for sure. Looks very good, very high quality. Very pleased with the look. I just have to get some compound to take out vibration scratches from the old grill and maybe some touchup paint.

I'll try and load some up later. I have never done that on this site. Everything is a little harder than it should be. I took a couple of pics while I was doing the install, but lighting is not the best nad flash just makes a bright spot. It will be warmer this weekend ,I hope and can compound the grill opening to remove the old grill marks.

I had to bend my bottom tabs. cut and re-drill the top tabs so it would clear the front of the hood. Wasn't easy for me

It would have been easier if the top tabs were slotted, but mine was a good fit after I bent the lower tabs up just a bit so it lowered the grill.

I would like your opinion of how the fit of the new grill is........especially on the bottom
where photos I saw of others showed a gap at the bottom.

There is a gap, but you can ajust it by either bending the mounting tabs or elongating the holes in the tabs and using screws with nuts on them instead of the plastic push fasteners. You can get it to fit really well if you spend a little extra time. I'm not finished with mine yet. I am going to have to repaint the grill opening . The old grill rubed through the clear coat. I think it looks very good even though I still have some tuning to do.

This should start being a requirement prior to posting...

I'd like to see how it looks, though I haven't been a fan of most of the grills I've seen....at least for my car.

Look forward to the pic's dtinker!

i'll try and get a pic or two this weekend and post them. I think you will be pleased. I really like the way it looks. It carries the line of shine all the way from fender to fender, then stops it at the headlight down. It looks real good.

I have SRT Six black powdercoated upper and lower grills and mine sits flushed. Great addition to the car. Here are a few pics.

Thanks SoftballJunkie. The black does appeal to me more than the chrome one's I've seen, but I don't like it to be so "transparent"...still, I do like it better in black.

I was hesitant on the black at first, but chrome doesnt appeal to me and I was going to paint my windshield trim and door handles the color of my car, so I went with the black to match the black housing in the headlamps. I thought it came out really nice and I get a lot of compliments on it.

It grows on you, I really think mine looks slick! It has good continuity, carries the body line well. My car is black,so the black just fits.

I too have noticed that you can see clearly through the grill -
is there anyway to change that?

+1, the first time I installed it, I thought it was a 'direct fit' and closed my hood thinking everything was fine, it chipped the PC off the corner and has never been the same. I have since refinished the grill and spent many hours trying to make it right by bending, drilling, and cutting, but when it warms up, I still have some fitment work to do.....

Paint everything you can see black, it takes all your attention off of anything behind it.. thats what I did.
