I ran across a German website that offers a repair kit for like 180 bucks.. I've noticed with mine a pillow in the back doesn't really push the glass tight along the sides. The German kit shows multiple suction cups and brackets to hold it tight. Looking at Ebay they have glass handling locking suction cups pretty cheap so looking into a clamp setup with them and the 3M window weld.

Just picked up a Black 05 Limited Roadster from a dealership in Knoxville today. This car WAS covered under the 10/100 window! I called Chrysler and the dealership had NO CLUE as they didn't show anything under TSB's or Recalls. Since its a warranty with a deductible the service manager said that's probably WHY they didn't know. Worked the sale $500 today to cover the cost of the top

Tennessee is one of the 9 "special" States, If your car was first delivered (sold) there less than 10 years ago & has under 100,000 mi's; call corp. @ 800-247-9753 w/ vin #, Their 2011 Warranty must cover it 100%, (service bulletin 23-035-11REV-A) NOT a "recall"; Warranty offered to 9 States only, do some research.

Got mine back last week, the dealer got it done in 8 hours. The Crossfire tech they had there said I was NOT a normal customer as even the dealer had NO IDEA about the warranty issue on the 05's and apparently I was the talk of the dealership for a few days. The GM of the dealership offered me a job when I came back in to pick the car up. I did do finance for a big dealership for a few years but I have no desire for 13-14 hour days anymore. Money is good IF you're good but the hours SUCK. I want to enjoy life not being in my 20s anymore.
$273.12 with tax out of pocket is all I paid since I MADE the dealership split the difference
Their price not covered was $2253.19 which is what my paperwork states. Got the windows done over the weekend so she looks pretty good.

Congrats! We would've gladly accepted a similar co-pay, but Chrysler wanted about $1500 from us (original owners), & they refused to negotiate their "30 day" oral offer. Why they don't want our future business beats the heck out of us!

I have an 08 and recently had the same issue as the 05's-the back window came unglued from the upholstery causing the window to almost fall out completely. Im the original owner with only 33,000 miles and am completely disgusted by Chryslers response when I called. Apparently they issued the 'extended warranty' for certain states, which I qualify, but it was only for the 05's. So, they didn't do anything different to change the type of adhesive they were using from 05 to 08, but I guess the low volume of calls for the 08 does not constitute an extended warranty for that year. I wonder if the fact that they only made 2000 08's matters. I am thoroughly disappointed in Chrysler and my Crossfire that I once loved.

Everyone Note: the 2011 Warranty is Not simply "State specific", rather, the reality is it is "VIN Specific", the Warranty is granted to a group of Vin numbers regardless of owner or where the car has been located! This means Chrysler is saying: this group and only this group has defective parts, which we all know is pure nonsense! Please make this point in your complaint to safercar.gov

I did file a complaint on that site-Thank You. I also called Chrysler for the 3rd time and received the same generic response that the 2008's were not part of the 'extended warranty' they offered. I asked why and of course she could not answer. I also asked if the adhesive had been improved since the 2005's extended warranty was issued and they couldn't answer that. I'm currently waiting for a supervisor to call me back.

BUT; there is NO requirement that a "covered" vehicle had to be located in one of the "9 States" for ANY length of time after sale or still have it's original owner. The Warranty is "Vin specific". They are saying that out of all the (imported German) Roadsters, only those that went to the "9 States" have defective window bonding to the roof top!?! The "letter" & claim form (with the Vin # pre-printed on it) were posted on our Forum a few years ago. Everyone (us too & NHTSA) Assumed that climate caused the failures, which we now know to be completely false. Note; Chrysler carefully never published any official cause of failure. NHTSA must formally respond to our "petition" for investigation, had contact, but not "holding our breath".

NHTSA should consider the fact that all model years & all States of delivery have this detached window issue. Manufacture of all the imported roof tops likely occurred over a relatively short time span. Most important: NHTSA must decide on the safety related defect issue. They should consider potential damage to the electric heated defroster and other wiring components when water will enter and accumulate.

Pretty sure that runs from the original sale date of the car. Get the carfax and see if yours confirms that as your cars original sale.

Wish me luck-After filing a complaint with NHTSA, driving back and forth to the dealership, and numerous calls back and forth with Chrysler, my 08 Crossfire is scheduled to have a completely NEW top put on this Friday along with a rental while the work is being performed. When they tell you no, ask to speak to their Supervisor and continue the upward chain until you get someone willing to do something about this issue. This isn't normal wear on the vehicle. It's a defect and a safety concern. My car hasn't been fixed yet, but I have hope for the near future!! It's going to be nice to be able to remove the pillow from the back window and once again, be able to put the top down. We shall see.

Here's a conversation I had this morning with a technical specialist at 3M's Automotive Division regarding the use of Windo-Weld Super Fast Urethane and/or Windo-Weld Round Ribbon Sealer. I still haven't decided what I am going to use but will try a DIY before replacing the top for $$$.

Don V: No, it is no where near the 08609 in comparison whenit comes to bonding. Its main purpose is to be used as a secondary sealer orused for installation where the OEM used a butyl sealer.

Don V: Yes. 08609 when used correctly for the correctapplication, it will have a much stronger bonding strength than 08610.

Don V: Ralph. It will cure hard. Not quite like a epoxy.
Don V: It has a very very small amount of flex to it. Notelastic.
