Default NA Supercharger

Anyone used or heard of this turbonator stuff? Is it really true that these can improve HP or is this just a lot of bologna!

They do a nice job of slightly blocking the opening of the intake and then adding a tiny bit of turbulance to the incoming air. The first is a negative (especially in the cars with an intake larger than the diameter of the piece and therefore requiring the additional clamping mentioned in the instructions) and the second means absolutely nothing as far as power and/or fuel economy go.

Spend the $89.99 on gas.

Or oil.

Or flowers for your wife or girlfriend (but not both) on Valentine's Day.

They used to sell the same snake oil back in the 70s. Add a $9.95 gizmo to your carburetor and get 70 mpg. I never figured out why Detroit did not buy them up, add it to every vehicle, and eat the Jap competition alive.

Other than a CAI and maybe a ECU reflash, there's not much you can do for reasonable money to boost performance. Just enjoy the ride.

PS - Buy an SRT6. They're getting cheaper and cheaper.

I was hoping you would say bologna!

One reason for the question is why charge 90 bucks for something that does not work. I figured that they may have done something for CAI's possibly. Well unless anyone else has used this with a positive outcome flowers for the wife it is!

THanks

Nate

I would agree. It would seem that turbulence would add something to the manifold mixing on a carbuerated engine and possibly generate more effeiency. But on our FI engines, it would add heat, increase flow resistance and rob energy. A laminar flow would be better.

Buy the flowers.......or an SRT

roadster with a stick

They ONLY work if you have one of these installed.....

If you don't have both parts they don't do a damn thing.

Maybe, they should link up with you, and install with the CAI's and then they will be able to say that they really do something! LOL!

... well maybe not, but it was a fleeting yet silly thought.

Flowers for the wife it must be! That crap does not work and will never work period. Motorweek ran a test on these types of products about 5 years ago, and in fact one of the products tested actually reduced the mpg! I don't remember the technical reasons for it's failure to work but it was proven ineffetcive. So grab them flowers and make the wife happy.

So are yall saying this doesn't really work? LOL

I am always amazed at some of the silly stuff that gets sold and I'm sure some of these have been sold. It's not really dumb on some of the buyers because they don't know any better, the ad says it will ad 10HP the shame is that there are crooks who take advantage of others who really don't know better and sell the crap.
