I would consider a plug as a temporary repair . It can pop out if you hit a pot hole are bump .Would always have a patch applied asap . I do carry a plug kit in car . I also keep a extra set of tires and wheels . Where if i do have a flat, thats not repairable i can maybe have someone bring me a tire and wheel. Have consider carrying a spare on long trips would have a 50% chance to have the right one. Maybe just carry the front could limp to a tire shop if rear failed .
