honestly wheres the hardtop?
Re: honestly wheres the hardtop?
relax, theres no monstrosity here, we are all crossfire brothers and sisters, i just want whats best for my crossfire, ever since i was old enough to drive ive been tweeking cars and i thought id never see the day when i would come to a stop, when i would think of adding twin turbos or supercharging or any of that i just would like to know that i have the "option" to add another 300hp to my car. i dont hate my car in fact i bought it without even test driving it!. i thought to myself wow i dont have to do anything to that car its perfect the way it is. and honestly wheres the hardtop? was just a challenge to anyone daring enough thats how aftermarket items come to be, you guys think im out to get the crossfires but im not, i just dont like the fact that a vette could beat me stock, and if there were more aftermarket stuff to put on to beat the vette, then by all means i would do anything to stuff it to them vette guys, but you know what im limited to what i can do to the xf and that bothers me. ill probably own it for the next 10 years to come give me a break, i know my previous posts wernt the most common posts, but if i dont ask who will?

You just have to have the money to buy it.
It would be easier, not to mention considerably cheaper, to buy a different car, that already has the amount of power that you want.

The hard top is on the SLK. You should go buy one of those.

5.5 Liter V8. 355hp, 376 ft-lbs of torque.
Slap some nitrous on it, and you can easily hit the 200hp over the N/A Crossfire mark, and maybe even go a bit higher.

Better yet, just race the late 70's and early 80's Vettes.
You should be able to beat those.
if there were more aftermarket stuff to put on to beat the vette, then by all means i would do anything to stuff it to them vette guys, but you know what im limited to what i can do to the xf and that bothers me.
Why are you so fixated on Vette's, anyway?
Did someone in HS who owned a Vette take your girl from you in your Senior Year?
You are simply not getting it.
The Corvette, and Camaro, and Mustang, and other cheap to hop up cars are that way simply because of the fact that all their components are fairly cheap to replace if you screw something up.
The Crossfire is anything but cheap to work on.
It uses MB equipment, and MB worked long and hard to build their systems to be as tamper resistant as they possibly could make them, which makes it very expensive for other companies to work on performance parts for this platform.
You are not the first person who has wanted to improve the Crossfire, and you won't be the last. You want more hp? Start with the SRT6, and work your way up. Or better yet, buy a junked SRT6, take the drivetrain and computer systems out of it, and put them in your car, and then go from there.
Will you ever get 300 extra hp out of a Crossfire motor?
No.
Will you ever get a hardtop for a Crossfire?
Probably not.
You bought the wrong car if that's what you want from it.
BC.
