Another New Non Owner Owns 1 Now!
Another New Non Owner Owns 1 Now!
Hi everyone! I posted a couple of weeks ago that I was considering getting rid of my Z3 and getting a roadster. I ended up in Florida and ended up driving 3 roadsters. The first 1 was black with a dark interior and my wife did not like it at all. The second one vibrated like hell at 80 mph like it had a bad tire, but the dealership kept asking me if I was familiar with crossfires and how did I know that wasn't how they drove. (Really!) I told them to fix it and give me a call back. They never did. Two days later, after an internet search, I was the ecstatic owner of a 2005 blue limited roadster. 30k miles and under warranty through 2012. The dealership was generous enough to offer all of $4200 for my 2001 Z3, so I had to fly my brother to florida to drive that back. The Z3 is a great car to drive and handles like its on rails, but I fell in love with the crossfire. A hell of a lot more comfortable, easier to get in and out of, and the exhaust sound is great, etc. The question of the day is....why isn't there a bigger aftermarket selection for this car and how come no one makes any aftermarket tail lights for it?
(If anyone searching this site is looking for a Crossfire - 2001 2.5 BMW Z3 comparison info, feel free to email me.)

Congrats on your "new" '05 limited roadster! The reason for so few aftermarket products is because there were so few xfires made. Search around this forum and you'll find lots of people making aftermarket products you won't find elsewhere. How would you want to change the tail lights?

i'd say from your story that rather than being a new non-owner, you are in fact a former non-owner who has newly become an owner ... sorry if I seem to belabor a minor point ...
I too am OK with the tail lights ... but, to each his own ... I'm sure that if you're truly determined you'll find a way to modify yours ...
hope you enjoy the ride as much as I do ...

As far as the tail lights, I probably should have waited until I made up my own mind. It was more a point of just looking for ways to personalize my new vehicle.
Thanks for the welcomes!

Welcome.
Read back through the forum and you'll find lots of information on rear wind blockers, lighted entry plates, chrome replacements for the plastic chrome trim, etc. Not a lot of speed parts available for the n/a engine though. Replacing the stock brake pads is the right way to go. Do a google search on Crossfire + whatever to find stuff, too.

Welcome to the forum and to the world of Crossfire ownership. It can be frustrating at times, but for the most part it's great. Try to make it to as many GTG's that you can, because meeting other Crossfire owners while they are enjoying their cars is always a good time.
Some people who have issues with their taillights have put a "dark smoked" overlay on them. Maybe this mod will work for you. Good Luck, and pray for "Roadster Weather".
