Sunday - took the Crossfires out of storage
Sunday - took the Crossfires out of storage
I'll give all you southern dwellers something to think about. Both 2005s have been in storage since 10/30. Yesterday the temp was over 40oF for the first time in a couple weeks so I went over to the self-store yard and sprung the babies for a quick ride. Both started right up and after letting them warm up for 5 minutes I drove them around the storage yard for a mile each. Just wanted to get the oil flowing and the tires in a different spot. Then back in storage and under covers they went.
The sticky boards along the walls are still mouse-free and the garage reeks from the two pounds of mothballs I spread on the floor. But no sign of rodents.
Spring is a long way away. :-(

Don't know how you guys live in those frigid temperatures. Saturday morning I drove my rdstr. back from Biloxi MS. with the top down, along the Gulf of Mexico back to Louisiana after seeing a YES concert in Biloxi. GREAT start to the weekend!!!!!!

Wow, we had ice today (not on the roads though) and it has been about 30 all day. But supposed to be back almost to 80 Fri., Sat. & Sun. I enjoy cooler weather, but I am a southerner, born and raised. And it wasn't until a few years ago that I learned people put their sports cars into storage for the winter....Couldn't do it.

Think about how nice it is to live where it is warm(er) year round. Of course, I also lived in south FL for 5 years and one can complain about the humiditure as much as the cold. Also, we do have lots of snow here in western Michigan, but we don't name our blizzards. Went through Andrew when in FL and watched Katrina on tv. Thank you very much, I'll snowblow the white stuff and get on with my regular life.
PS - I could drive the XF most days, but after having a TR6 rust out from underneath me after 5 years of winter driving, I would not subject a beloved sports car to the salt again. Esp since I plan on keeping them for many year.

I am soooo glad I don't have to deal with that anymore living in Pa. all my life but recently moved to Texas. It is supposed to be 75 here Sat. We did have two nasty days this week and it went down to 25 with sleet and tons of accidents. I found that when a dusting of snow occurs here, the world stops for a day.

10.5" of snow since midnight and still coming down. They're predicting a foot at least. Just sent my 18 year old out in the driveway with the snowblower. It's impressive to see that much snow sailing 30' through the air. Roads will be clear by tonight and I'll be taking my usual weekend drive (Audi A6) to Detroit tomorrow - it will look like a scene from Dr Zhivago!
