New Crossfire Roadster owner.
New Crossfire Roadster owner.
Hey everyone! I'm new to the forums and I just bought my 2005 Inferno Blaze Red Crossfire Roadster limited 2 days ago and I totally love the car, It definitely is a head turner.
Could anyone please help me with a few questions?
I bought the car for 21,000 dollars, it is in excellent condition and has 7700 miles on it. Was this a good deal?
What do the new 2008 Crossfire Roadster Limiteds go for now? I went to the Chryslerwebsite and it said it's 35k but I've heard from some people that they are slashing prices way down to clear them out, is this true? How low are the new ones going for now?
Also, how much would my insurance premium for a 24 year old male driving it?
Any help would be very appreciated, thanks in advance your friend, Brad.

Hi Brad, and welcome to the Forum! This is a handy place to get info, and fun place to hang out. Many great posters here, very generous with their time and knowledge.
You ask: "I bought the car for 21,000 dollars, it is in excellent condition and has 7700 miles on it. Was this a good deal?"
You won't like my answer, but it's the truth: if you like your car, if you end up loving your car, then it's a good deal, whatever you pay. You're going to drive it, not bank it. It's not an investment, but a consumable.
Pretty much everyone on this forum has watched, stunned, as the price of these German jewels has been chopped in half, or more, over a few years. But I don't hear many complaining; the car is just too dang fun.
Enjoy your new ride!
EDIT: lol, ShirazRoadster! Great minds.

Re: New Crossfire Roadster owner.
I think you did fine on the price and great on the value that you got for your money. Don't spend much time doubting your purchase because it is well worth the money.. I have been watching the auction price for the Crossfire and find:
Red will bring a $500 to $1000 premium on sale price.
Low miles will add $500 to $1000
Great condition adds as much.
When you compare yours to ebay prices and the like, keep in mind that yours is prettier, lower miles and in great shape. Your car's twin is in my carport. Congrats.

Re: New Crossfire Roadster owner.
Welcome to the forum. I agree with the others, if you love the car then the price was right. It is common to have what I call buyers remorse for a few days after you purchase something that large especially if you had to deal for it. Just don't look back, get in and drive that bad boy and enjoy, enjoy, enjoy.
If you ever get to Co. drop me a note and we will try and get a few of us together with you. Itsky on the forum out of Denver also has one just like yours, you can pull him up on the galley.
Now you just need some good tunes to make you BOB THAT HEAD...lol

Re: New Crossfire Roadster owner.
I think you did OK on your price. I've seen some with more miles going for around the same... some less but that's how life works.
We gave a little under 30 for ours brand new. Once we'd purchased ours I found several a little bit cheaper... it always happens though.
Like "WingMan" said above, if you like it, doesn't matter what you paid.
Just enjoy it.
We do.

Re: New Crossfire Roadster owner.
Thanks for all the help guys, I am guilty of being in love with 2 cars at the same time, there is another Crossfire that I have my eyes on, it is a 2007 Roadster limited practically new in silver with only 500 miles, the price is 25k for it. I am wondering if that is a good deal? The one concern is, I"m not really fond of the silver colored paint of the car, would it be possible for me to have it repainted blaze red?

If you could live with silver the price is not bad. If you wanted to repaint the car expect big bucks. To change the color completely $4 - $5,000. Do not do the paint change. Not worth the money. Enjoy
