Default Scare tonight!!!

On vacation this week with nothing much to do this. Wife let me off the hook on putting in new wood floors in the living room, so I decided to take my XF up to the canyons. It's about 20 or so mile of twisties, been going up there for like 25 plus years on my sport bikes, so I know every turn. Top down, 71 degrees, just perfect! Not one incident up there. Going home was a different story. Stopped by the local Harley dealer, looked at the 09 Electra Glides, only had Ultras, want a Classic, anyway, had a smoke, (don't smoke in the car, ok 2 smokes), and headed home. On the main street leading to my turn off, which is a quick, realy quick 90 degree right from the main highway. Speed was about 50 in 3rd, hard on the brakes quick down shift to 2nd, then into to 1st, almost instantly while going into the right hander onto my street. The street is only maybe 12 feet wide, going one way with a "island" in the middle, and on the other side of the island is the street going out. Kinda fancy entrance to the neighborhood because there is a county club at the end. TC was on. But I had not slowed down enough before making the turn so had to stay on the brakes hard entering the turn while down shifting, then gas out. But during this whole sequence of events, I was beginning to slide toward that island and just cringed at what would happen to my new wheels. Brakes were pulsating as the ABS kicked in while in the turn, but kept pressing hard on the brake. I knew if I let up, I would drift out into that island. I have practiced hard braking into turns with ABS, (in huge empty parking lots with no poles!) but this was a tight turn onto a narrow street, and I if I lifted off the barke I would for sure drift out. I made it through OK, but scared the hell out of me! Won't do that again for sure! Oh, one more thing, before all this happened, I had to pickup my 20 year old step daughter form school, she doesn't drive. So going down our street, I said "hold on a second, I wanna do a burnout". She asked, "what's a burnout?" I said your kidding, you mean none of your friends do burnouts. I said "watch". Well of course with TC off, well you know what happens. No burn out. I stated telling her about needing to pull fuses, blah, blah, blah. She said that was OK, she was going to go google "burnouts".

LOL, you were all cool up until the point you had to explain that you have to pull fuses. Its kinda like picking up a girl in a Porsche GT3RS and you have to explain why there is a roll cage in the car.

It's your tires. Do what you want with them. All good for the economy.

Neat cars so "play" is on the agenda. You deserve to enjoy.
