Chrysler Employees?
Re: Chrysler Employees?
My dad was with Chrysler from 1955 to about 1982. He started as an engineer in the steering & suspension after immigrating from Belgium, then moved on to the heavy duty truck line and stayed there until Dodge discontinued the whole lineup. At the end of his career he was National Fleet Sales Manager - Dodge Truck Division. He was mostly responsible for national accounts selling to RV, firetruck, ambulance, school bus and other manufacturers.
That ought to count for something.

my dad worked at the Jeep plant from when he was 18. took one of the buyouts DCX offered, it was around the time TNAP opened and the XJ was killed.
he got the SRT on the exec/retiree lease, i bought it after the lease was up and then he leased a convertible. it was turned in back in July.

Re: Chrysler Employees?
I'm not a current Chrysler employee but I did work in the Los Angeles Assembly Plant in 1968, left for the draft and came back in 1970 for 6 months. I worked on the Glass line putting trim around the passenger side windshield, also put the washer jets hose assembly on. I started on the dock unloading boxcars full of seat springs, worked on the panel line for a time, and installed air conditioner units before the dash was put in.
My dad retired with 25 years at the same plant, was and inspector on the finish line, also worked as a repairman on the finish line for many years. He took early retirement, as the plant was condemend, I believe and closed. I found an old auto brochure in the garage that dates back to the fifties and his picture is actually in the brochure working as a repairman. It shows different aspects of the assembly plant. He was a loyal employee, never drove anything but a Chrysler product during the time of his employment and until he died.

I retired from Chrysler. I was at the old Dodge Main (Hamtramck Assembly) for about 15 years. I then worked for Volkswagen in New Stanton Pa. I came back to Chrysler and was at the Jefferson Ave assembly plant and when it was shut down, I transferred over to the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant.
I guess that qualifies

I realize it's a free country and all, but can you really complain when your company lays you off, when you don't even purchase the product you're building?
Sorry for straying off topic.

I believe you're talking about the old ******-Overland plant in Toledo.
Unfortunately, it's no longer there, But the "Overland" smokestack is still there. My mom was adamant that that stack still stood after the plant was removed.
