Cool An Introduction

Hello everybody. I just wanted to introduce myself, and I didn't see a better place to do this on the forums.

I have yet to take delivery of my new (new to me) 2005 Chrysler Crossfire convertable. I should pick it up later this afternoon. I had been shopping for a car for a little while now, and only after I found out that I could afford a used Crossfire within my parameters (not older than, no more than x ammount of miles, etc.) did I actively pursue one untill I found one.

My name is Clay. I live in central Indiana. I'm 23 years old. I traded in my 2002 Hyundai Elantra that I bought new at 17. I consider myself to be a bit of an enthusiast. I love to drive. I always have. Long drives (3+ hrs) don't bother me a bit. 99% of the time I refuse to ride with anyone. I have to drive, and I have to drive my car. I don't care if you come with, but I'm driving my car to the destination. I also take a lot of pride in my cars and fellow drivers.

Some of you may remember me from several years ago. I find that more people know me than I realize. You may have heard this story a few years ago: http://www.in.gov/legislative/hdpr/R37_07082003.html
If you haven't or don't know me, then it gives me an opportunity to brag .

Anyway, nice to meet you all. I hope to get to know you, and maybe even have a chance to meet a few of you.

It's a black Crossfire. I haven't even taken delivery yet, so I don't have pictures... except: http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail...aff=national#0

That's the car. Photo's taken at the dealership for their webpage at www.tomwoodpreowned.com.

Good luck with the car although the dealer shows it as a limited and the one in the pics is a base model.

Ya, I know. I called them out on it. Ultimately I didn't want leather seats if nothing else. That woulda been a deal breaker, and I'm under the impression that the Ltd's come with leather seats standard. And believe me, I used to sell cars (new and used at a Nissan dealership) and I didn't pay a ltd price.

Only if I have to . But seriously I'll probably be lightly modding this car like I did my last car. (Lightly because it's my daily driver, and I don't want to be tearing things up too bad) And if history repeats itself, I'll get pulled over for some other stupid reason and I'll fight it in the state house. Although that was my first time doing something like that, I've done it a few more times since. And although I'm not a lawyer nor have I passed the bar, a lot of people come to me for legal advice. I feel like I know Indiana law fairly well, but with a little work I can probably find just about anything you want/need to know.

And finally, I picked up my car a few hours ago. Already got it sideways (completely on accident). I was taking my younger brother for a ride, and went to pull out of a roundabout in second gear. Gave it the gas like I always would and all of a sudden I feel the rear tires start to spin, hear a little screeching, and the rear end started come around the left side. I let off the gas and turned into the skid to save the 30 min old car. In my defense, the roads had just gotten a little wet after a light sprinkle. This car has WAY more power than my little 2.0L I-4. I dont have any intention of doing that again.

Its totally black for one thing. Ltd. has a silver windshield surround and silver side strakes. Also its got the fabric interior. Those are the obvious differences.

Which brings up a good question... or at least I think it's a good question. I don't care about the windshield border, but I would kinda like to have chrome brake vents (side strakes). Anyone know how I could change those? Without running outside to look closely at them, are those individual peices that can be removed/replaced or are they molded to the rest of that corner pannel?

For anything you want chromed on this car i think TVT design carries CTD stuff and they can have chrome replacements for almost anything...I have checked it out and there is a whole array of items you can replace.

On second thought, I did some quick research and found these chrome strakes.

I woulda thought that $130 is kinda steep. Know where I could get some for about half that price?
