Parking very carefully now...what a surprise!
Parking very carefully now...what a surprise!
Pulled into one of those tiny parking slots (for skateboards I guess) and whilst trying to get as close as possible to the end slot with a curb I scrubbed the right front W H E E L !!!
The rubber of the tire showed zippo scrubbing, but the wheel had a nice 3-4 inch bare metal line where it hit the curb. Boy did I invent some new language at 500 db right in the parking lot.
There's no way except being very carefully to keep that from happening I can see. Fortunately I had some Duplicolor Steel Wheel spray paint I used on my BMW RS1200 that exactly matches Xfire wheels and got it fixed. But there for a minute I was truly unbalanced...

Re: Parking very carefully now...what a surprise!
Judging the extents of a Crossfire is closely related to prediction services offered by some 900 numbers.
The very high shoulder/hood lines and the rediculous 3/4 visibility could drive anyone with a career in risk analysis to heavy drinking.

What is the mfr and part no for that spray paint? It could come in handy.
I avoid tight places since I don't want door dings. I also worry about those concrete stops that are the right height to crush the spoiler.
Best to park far away from everyone and anything and hoof it.

2. I put these on the mirrors, just can't see behind when driving. I'm a look over the shoulder driver, but it doesn't work in a XF well. These on the two mirrors have helped.

All,
The rim paint I use is:
Dupli-Color (Blue label showing a tire and wheel)
Wheel Paint
Steel Finish
WP316
I apply it with a Q-tip so I don't have to cover the whole car. A little painters tape between the tire and wheel at the scrub will keep you safe if you happen to be a shaker. All the brake dust may make it tuff to gt the tape to stick, but you need to lightly sand and use rubbing alcohol to clean the spot anyway. Three or four light coats works for me.
