Cleaning Top Compartment ?
Cleaning Top Compartment ?
I thought I read somewhere that when lowering the top, and you let up on the button when the top is halfway down and leave it that position for a while, you will lose hydraulic pressure and top sequence orientation. In other words, how do you clean & vacuum the top compartment or service that area.
Top down, 70 degrees in NW Ohio. I need a shorter haircut!!!
Thanks

Re: Cleaning Top Compartment ?
Ok so it is true that it does lose pressure. But it will not mess up the sequence. Just cycle the key in the ignition and it should start where it was. I had this problem once and didnt notice for a while. It took me a second to figure it out. But there is no damage done and it is actually a safety feature.

I remember reading on a previous thread that some of the earlier roadsters had to go through an additional sequence if the top was not raised or lowred all at once. I've had no problems stoping anywhere in the middle of the process in my SRT-6, mine has a May B-day

Thanks for everyones input.
Re: Cleaning Top Compartment ?
CrossfireLTD is absolutely right. At least monthly I put the top down 1/2 way and clean the inside of the "boot". Wipe out the dust, etc. The first time I left the top 1/2 down and when I came back a while later it was all the way down all by it's lonesome.
It's never gotten out of sequence. I either leave it down or raise it, depending upon weather.
