Default Roadster Luggage Rack ???

I'm curious to know if any roaster owners have found a way to adapt a luggage rack for the rear deck. I've been told that the suppliers who have developed racks for today's other roadsters have not attempted to work around the problems caused by our rear spoilers. It seems like a possibility to deactivate the spoiler and adapt one of the available racks to our vehicles.

I might be wrong, but I was under the impression that one would see a "BSP/ESP" failure light (and limp mode?) if the spoiler wouldn't deploy properly?

I don't know, but would like the option!

If you pull the fuse on the roadsters wing, all that happens is a small red light flashes on the manual operation switch way down low by the ashtray. It only starts blinking above 64mph and you really don't notice it, even at night.
When you reach speeds above 90mph an "audible" beeping sound occures.
That is, if everything is the same on a roadster as it is on a coupe.
I'm not a big fan of luggage racks but then I have a trunk that actually has more than enough room for two.
I don't think luggage racks have been popular since Todd and Buzz had one on their Corvette on the old TV show "Route 66".

I used to have a luggage rack on my 88 Cougar but I never used it for anything. It was there for decoration and the dealer was able to charge me about $400 more because it was on the car when I bought it. As for the trunk, I have a roadster and I get enough stuff for a weekend getaway in there no problem. Be thankful you don't have a Solstice/Sky.

They make luggage for our roadster that fit in our trunk with the top down. It's made out of Germany and I have contaced the US distributor, who are waiting for the shippment. You can go to the Germany site and look at the luggage, search under ROADSTERBAG. I can't find the link right now at work.

I would be really happy with a rack that was removable. Not as a permanent fixture.

Never thought about the luggage rack. We find we can tough it out with the top up until we reach our destination or use a small Samsoniite carry-on and flat pack the clothing with a laptop. Everything she buys get shipped back. We look at this before we bought the car. AS said earlier if it was a Soltace or SKY you'd have to buy a rack.

I had one on my 1974 Corvette.

As long as it's portable for the XF, it's not a bad option to have.

FP, You're absolutely right. I've had 7 Vettes (3 C3's and 4 C4's) starting with a 78. So I forgot all T-Tops from 68 thru 77 with that "Breadbox" they jokingly refered to as a "trunk" left most of its owners "Luggage space challenged".
Luggage Racks weren't that uncommon at all. My Bad.

They were offered as an option on the AMX, and that car had "Tons" of luggage space, so I guess that's why I always had an aversion to "Racks".
