New Owner from South MS
New Owner from South MS
Hello all,
I have been researching XF's for about four months and knew I wanted one. Well, this past Monday I picked up an 05 Limited Roadster 6spd in Black with the slate gray two-tone interior. What can I say, I love it!! It is by far one of the smoothest cars I've driven, very solid and stable. It definitely gets the looks, too.
I have been a long time Mopar nut (even though these are practically MB's) and have loved these cars since introduction. I worked at a Chrysler franchised dealer for the past six years in parts, and recently left to pursue my career in graphics. My old work had two on the used lot (we didn't sell them new) and I had a choice between an 06 red coupe auto with 17k miles or an 05 black roadster 6spd with 39k miles. Although it had more miles (and was out of it's b2b warranty) not to mention a year older, I had to have it. They were both the same price. I ended up paying 17,800. I also got the extended Service Contract for just 1200 more (regularly 2500 or so).
The car was a lease turn in from Florida and it's powertrain warranty was transferred to me, thankfully. It's a very nice car and whomever leased it took pretty good care of it. My only current plans are clear corners and HID's. Anyone have any for sale?
After having owned four neons and a third gen eclipse, I wanted something nice with some luxury and sporty-ness to it. Something I could just hop in and drive. No engine swaps or turbos like my other cars. This will suit me just fine. Maybe a set of clean staggered wheels but thats about it. Okay, maybe a cold air and exhaust later on, but I really don't wanna mess with the car much, I like it as is. Looking forward to many threads here and I'm glad to be part of the community!
Steven

Re: New Owner from South MS
Hi, Steven.
Was just in Gulfport three weeks ago with my new Roadster visiting an old high-school buddy. Would have enjoyed hooking up for a beer and shrimp po-boy. I grew up in Gulfport and now live in Houston. The coast is looking better, but man, there is so much that's simply not there anymore.
If I make it back over this summer, I'll look you up. We'll have a two car cruise down 90!

Robert,
Thats very cool. I see a few Crossfires around here, but haven't seen any since I bought mine. I wonder if any local or semi-local XF owners are on these forums...
Yeah, the coast is getting better. A lot of improvements going on in the cities. I just miss all of the hangouts on the beach that are now gone, or up and coming condos. I have been to Houston a few times, and I like it, but too big and fast paced for me. One of my friends who drives a BMW M3 is going to UTI (I think) over there and is almost finished with his classes. Just give my email a shout next time you're over. I'm always down for a cruise!
peace,
STL
