Default Top Rear Latch

2005 LTD Roadster 27k miles

When I bought a few months ago, the top would latch itself in the rear. Now i have to reach back and push it closed. Try lub, but does it nee adjusting, or is this something we live with?

Sorry I can't help. I haven't seen that problem.

Hopefully it's an uncommon problem that has an easy fix.

Yep, mine pulls itself down all by its lonesome. Must need a tweak?

You can adjust it by using a star screw driver to unscrew the two star screws and move the latch rod on the top part forward or backward. My brand new crossfire did the exact same thing and I looked at the latch rod and the latch acceptor in the tannou. I noticed I saw some "rub" marks in the latch acceptor and figured that the latch rod was a wee bit short so it was rubbing against the inside of the latch acceptor and needed to be moved forward a tad . I unscrewed the two screws, move the latch rob a bit forward and that solved the problem. Takes a whole three mintues to adjust and fix. You might have to move yours back or forward depending on where its rubbing the latch acceptor.. I had to move mine forward about 1/4 of an inch..

Hope that helps..

My latch was doing the same thing. I took it to the dealer it was just a minor adjustment. It was deffinitely worth it to get it adjusted.

Happy cruising

Ours does it every now and then. I give it a shot of WD-40 and it's good again.
