Default Crossfire Roadster Wiper Issue

First time actually posting a question but greatly appreciate everyone's insight into a fantastic roadster. Here' my question. On my '05 sapphire blue xfire, the wiper control has three positions. Intermittent, Constant and Fast. When the wiper control is on the Constant position, wipers work when car is moving but if I am stopped at a red light or for what ever reason, wipers stop in the down positon. Once I release the break and go, wipers start back up. Does anyone know if these are set to a speed setting. Love the forum and Crossfires.

Crossfire wiper controls interact with a speed sensor that automatically puts the wipers into intermittent mode when the vehicle slows or stops.

This same speed sensor also allows you to automatically lower your radio volume when the vehicle slows or stops.

The details of this are in the owners manual.

imabenz,

This was the first time I've heard about the radio speed sensitive volume control...how do you activate this feature? Thanks

You are correct sir...the system is very subtle, not nearly as noticeable as the GM method of doing this.

I just checked my owners manual and the only thing that I could find was the note about the wiper speed. Nothing about the radio volume.

I read about that feature somewhere, more than likely on the forum. I have never tried to adjust my radio, so I do not know if it is possible. Sorry, for the confusion, I thought that I had read it in the owners manual. Perhaps someone else knows of the radio feature.

Apkano is correct about this. My '01 Camaro ragtop had the feature on the stereo and it was much more noticable. The wipers are a nice feature tho.

I wonder if this is a roadster only feature. We notice it in the roadser and not the coupe.

It wouldn't surprise me. I also seem to notice it more when the top is down, there may be a switch in the top mechanism that turns this on and off.

Sorry I can't be of more help......I usually listen to the music coming from under the hood and rarely use my radio.

The feature is there but I don't remember how to activate it. Some help huh! I was sitting in the Crossfire while my wife went into a store and was fiddling around with the radio and got onto a section where you could use the feature that would increase the volume as the speed increased. It's not in the manual that I can see. If I can get the radio into that mode I will post my findings. Might not be for a while as I'm not driving the car much.

My GMC Sierra has this feature right on the volume **** but it over corrects and I leave it off.

I wonder if women have this feature. It seems the faster I go the louder they get also.

We have a base and the options seem to be there.

I do have a coupe and I do notice the volume going down when you slow down. Not very much, but it is noticiable.

I'm hoping Chuck comes back with the answer as to how to adjust it.

I tried a test; I was driving along a nice country road yesterday at 55mph, top down. I adjusted the music on a cd to volume nuimber 29. minutes later as I was stopped at a stop sign I re-adjusted the volume, the reading was still at number 29 . . . makes you wanna go hmmmm.
