Default TVT DESIGN CAI Install

I just received my CAI from TVT. Instructions are GREAT but.......
has anyone had experience feeding the flexible plastic tube into the hole behind the driver's side headlight? Tips and hints will be appreciated.
I'm new to the Forum and have a 2007 N/A base roadster.
TIA

Yes. I had a heck of a time doing the same thing! It's very difficult to feed that flex tube under the headlight. I found it was much easier feeding it from the front side, underneath the car, back into the engine compartment. This is backwards from the TVT instructions. You have to remove that bottom engine cover to get there though which is also in the TVT installation instructions.

Great. Yeah it works much easier in that direction.

Also, FYI, I got a Mercedes ML320 engine cover that with a little modification will fit the TVT CAI setup. TVT now sells these as a package deal. You can see a pic in my User Gallery.

I'll try tonight. It's in a very tight spot to take a picture of clearly as it goes through a opening immediately under the headlight assembly.

Do you feel that this location has good for air flow for the intake ??
Is it possible to use the existing intake port with this mod ??

I think the location is good. It's outside the engine compartment so it'll be sucking cold air. The existing holes for the old intake tubes are too small to fit the 3" flex pipe through. You can just make out the existing hole directly above the start of the silver intake pipe. This location under the headlight is just barely big enough. This pic shows the location of the inlet tube under the light. The K&N cone filter on the other side is attached to this flex tube and is protected by the bumper and the bottom engine cover.

Hey guys,

Glad to hear our products are receiving positive response. The stock inlet holes will not work due to their size and limitation for filter. I feel the way we have designed our intake is as good as it is going to get for the N/A airflow path. It's a 3" uninterrupted flow right to the MAF.
