How much will it cost to realign? And what should I do?

Being a DUI enforcment officer, I was shocked when I read the begining of this thread. I was very impressed by the responses. WELL DONE FORUM MEMBERS ! I could not have said it any better. As for you, "drunk and stupid", You said that you were the only one in the car. I can't tell you how many times I have had to tell a parent that their son/daughter was killed in a crash. It is devastating to the family. Imagine someone knocking on your fathers door to tell him that you are dead. You should fess up and tell dad the WHOLE truth and then contact your local MADD chapter and see if you can attend a victim impact panel. It will open your eyes.
By the way, if this post is true, at least he somewhat understands the error of his ways by asking us for help. My beat partner just arrested a crossfire owner for DUI the other day in Knoxville. 17,000 people a year die in DUI related crashes every year in the U.S. 70% are innocent victims. DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE.

Be thankful that your actions did not result in personal injury, and learn from your mistake.

[quote=XXDRAGOXX By the way, I already told my father about what happened. I was honest about the incident but I left out the drunk part as suggested by User NeverEnough. Thank you for the constructive criticism NeverEnough. Anyway, his reaction was actually not too bad. He just told me he would take care of it monday and that he was glad nothing happened to me. Completely the opposite of what I expected and deserve, however, it doesn't hurt to hear that.[/quote]
What kind of bull crap is this? "his reaction was actually not too bad" well of course NOT you failed to mention you were DRUNK and Driving. AGAIN- What kind of bull crap is this? 'He just told me he would take care of it monday" Are you a total butt head? How is is that you are feeling better about scamming your father into PAYING for your DRUNKEN LIE? I can't really see where you have earned anything but the knowledge that you have lied to your father, endangered other people, your self and ripped your father off. Gee now thats something to "feel good" about ya think? Respect is a two way deal. When he finds you deceived him, ripped him off and did it with a straight face ask him if it "feels good" You will have lost something that you won't quickly get back, your fathers respect. You can work to build it again, but kiss it good bye in the mean time. And don't act so surprised when he has doubts about you. What are you doing hanging out at a drinking party anyway? News flash- not everybody does it. But look on the bright side you can forever know that you "got away with it" and that you made your Dad a chump. At the very very least PAY FOR IT YOURSELF you wanted the car now accept the responsibility.

Re: Drunk and Stupid!!!
I am a police officer. I can see this from both sides. Yes you were stupid and you realize it (somewhat) but part of remorse is making things right by fessing up and maybe doing some kind of community service to atleast heal some of your internal pain. When you say youre remorseful and then do something else stupid like lying to your old man to cover it's just wrong and a step in the wrong direction. Think about it this way.... You pretty much got away with this, no arrest... you fooled your dad ect. But now you may start to get feelings like you are invicible especially when your buddies are pressuring you to do something else stupid. Whether you tell your dad or not that is your choice. What you must do is take it as a life lesson and learn good and hard from it. Do some volunteering at MAAD or go to a AA open meeting. I would forget about the car and focus on proving yourself to well ummmm yourself. Grow up and realize that you dodged a bullet this time. You have so much time to go to bars and parties when youre 21 and not driving. Get serious and grow up. Dont listen to the BS that your a kid and have fun with no consequences. It's too early in the game to screw up. The mistakes you make now will follow you around for the rest of your life.
Take care and be safe

This is a place where everyone around here goes to donuts and what not. There are no cars around and no people either. When we arrived my friend decided he wanted to see how the donuts looked from the outside, so he walked on to the sidewalk and watched from there. The reason he was so light is because of the alcohol factor left out. THat's not owning up, just an easy excuse to halfway own up
