Cool Installing New Gear Shift ****?

Has anyone installed a new, manual, gear shift ****? I have found a Momo **** that I would like to get but want to make sure I can actually get the thing on after I but it.

I don't know whether my hand is too small or the factory **** is too big, but with all the manual shifting, the palm of my hand is always a little tender...but maybe that is just me...
