CAA6 Convoys from AL/GA/FL/SC/NC/TN
CAA6 Convoys from AL/GA/FL/SC/NC/TN
I am leaving Atlanta on either Friday or Saturday for CAA6. I guess I am leaving Saturday and stopping for a night somewhere with an arrival in ES on Sunday afternoon/evening.
Option one is to go down to Ala_Xfire's area and run to Arkansas with him.
Option two is to head in a "Nashville" direction and hook up with those coming from TN/NC/etc.
So, what are others in the Southeast planning?
What ever route I take, I plan on a "flow with traffic" speed or ten miles over for most of the way.

I'll probably stop in Memphis overnight and head into ES Sunday via US63 and US412

That looks so easy! (And I could stay Friday night near you... making it shorter days of driving.)

2 or 3 hotels at the I20 / Green Springs exit at Anniston, Cracker Barrel, Waffle House, Golden Corral nearby for breakfast.

We're leaving Saturday around 1:30 PM. Wife has to work that morning until noon. Planning on driving to Lebanon, TN and spending the night. Then will either continue on I-40 to Memphis on Sunday, or thinking strongly about taking I-24 to Paducah & crossing over to Sikeston. MO to catch US-60 West. Frank recommended that route & it looks to be a solid recommendation. I've been on US-60 over to US-63 North. Lots of construction when I drove it last, but 4-lane highway looks to be an easy route considering it will be near the end of our travel day on Sunday.

Don't know if you caught it on Facebook.. But don't rush into finding one if you can rent a wreck or something to get by with till "the car" comes along. We'll swing bringing both roadsters and (unless you like butterflies) can loan you mine..
I was thinking bring my Avalanche with spare tires and wheels.. but that could change to a full tank of gas in it and my son only 3 hours away with them..

If not then I'm certainly glad that you're OK. Now here's your chance to get that Graphite Grey SRT6 roadster you've wanted for years but never pulled the trigger on! I'll help you find one!
Is there any other color you might want?? There's a nice black SRT6 roadster at a highly rated dealer in Kansas City . . . 73,000 miles listed at a reasonable $13,000 . . .

You know what they say . . . "Once you go black you'll never go back!" . . . . Oh maybe they were talking about something else . . .

I'm still trying to sort it all out.
OBVIOUSLY, it' is time for a 'new' car. Gonna think this thru. An SRT sounds good, but to not have the third pedal is really a bugger with me.
I'm flying to Michigan for work for a week or two - I'd hope by then we can have this insurance thing sorted out.

I would have to believe that thoughts of not having the third pedal will quickly fade into a distant memory after a few times putting your right foot the floor, hearing the sweet whine of a supercharger and getting pushed back into your seat . . .
Re: CAA6 Convoys from AL/GA/FL/SC/NC/TN
True. But so much of the time, 99.9%, I can't do that.
All those other times, the clutch and shift are relaxing/fun to me.
I just don't know yet.... I couldn't justify two cars (which is why I haven't moved on an SRT).
But I also don't like the idea of not having a clutch in my life.
I sold the Red Roadster primarily because ONE vehicle had to go - and since it had an auto, I let it go.

Let me know if you decide to take I-24 / US 60. My wife and I are staying in Clarksville, TN (I-24 Exit 4) Saturday night, we could meet up there on Sunday morning and continue on.
Of course anyone else who is planning on that route could join us as well.
