Post Dream Cruise / Northern Michigan Tour - Aug 18th, 19th & 20th
Post Dream Cruise / Northern Michigan Tour - Aug 18th, 19th & 20th
Hey Everyone,
Just thought I would start a thread about the post Dream Cruise Tour to see who was interested in going this year. I figured we could start a list of who's coming and the route we should take.
I should be available the 18th, 19th & most of the day the 20th. If I am lucky I might be able to get the 21st but my vacation is running a bit low as right now
I have three ideas running through my head right now:
-Lake Michigan Tour as we have down the last two years. Always a great time!
-Explore the Sunrise side with stops in the thumb, Frankenmuth, Lumbermen's Monument,
Alpena and Mackinaw.
-Pictured Rocks / Tahquamenon Falls
Anyone else have any ideas?
So here is the list of folks going on the Post Dream Cruise / Northern Michigan Tour

Troy, I'm in for the trip whereever it leads! I like the 3rd idea best....just becuase I would really like to venture to the UP and check things out there....but I'm good for whatever works best for the group.

Danimal - The UP is a great idea, I have no problem as long as nobody minds the inital drive up there. There are many great routes we could do including the Porcupine Mountains, Copper Harbor, Pictured Rocks, Tahquamenon Falls, and the Soo Locks. I will put some maps together with drive times and see what everyone thinks.
Aschrager - Glad to hear you are going to make it up again! I won't be able to do Florida this year as I am almost out of vacation but I can plan on next year if you are going to do it again.

Gary, can youmove this thread so it will be more visible...maybe make it a sticky or something so it stands out....we need to start a list and have folks sign up so we know how many people are going and unless they sign on to the Dream Cruise they don't see it....just a thought!!

Hope folks take advantage of the cruise after Woodward

Here is a great video of Grand Rapids, Michigan.
It is such a great town and this shows a lot of it.
They closed down all the main streets and filmed this.
They are thinking of heading that way after the dream cruise and go up north from there…that is what they did last year….
Who else wants to head on a Post Dream Cruise / Northern Michigan Tour ?

Hi T.J. Right now I'm not sure if we'll be attending Woodward this year. I'm working on a huge project at work which is being implemented 7/26. We are currently scheduled to be on call through 9/15 so at this time I'm not sure whether I'll be able get away. If I can make it, we'll definitely join you for the side trip.... Sorry I cannot commit at this time... :-(
Re: Post Dream Cruise / Northern Michigan Tour - Aug 18th, 19th & 20th
After Woodward I am heading north. I have relatives in WI and will depart the "UP" about noon on the 20th, so I am in with or without a plan. I would like to get the Soo Locks into my itinerary. Per the Sault Ste. Marie web site they are the largest in the Western Hemisphere and very busy.
Re: Post Dream Cruise / Northern Michigan Tour - Aug 18th, 19th & 20th
I talked with Wolverine this past weekend and he is still planning on doing the Post Dream Cruise Tour but I do have a route planned out for myself. I don't want to step on his toes or take over the tour so I'm waiting for his post. I do need to firm some things up by this weekend for my trip so if all else fails, there is a trip planned and company is always welcome. I think that he and I are pretty close on things to do so stay tuned.
