Red Dog & Others,
I recently posted my intro as a new member and was told about the Fun In The Ozarks event next year.
As noted in my intro, I have instructed at performance driving schools on road racing tracks for about 20 years, both in-car and classroom. The classroom portion includes various topics related to driving on the road and on a race track.
If attendees are interested, I would be willing to present the classroom portion of the driving schools at the Ozarks event. We would need a conference room at the motel or some other venue and it would be good to have some idea of how many would be attending.
If other activities are occupying portions of all the days, I would be willing to do a couple of presentations to allow as many to attend as possible.
My e-mail is: kern@satcarracing.com if anyone would like to offer their thoughts or suggestions.

Hello Kern,
Thank you for your offer to present the classroom portion of a performance driving school course at our Crossfire Fun in the Ozarks (Round 5) event. It is most gracious of you to share your teaching experience and driving expertise with our attendees. We already have a large on-site hospitality room available to us for the duration of our event. Are you going to register and join us for this event? If so, let me know. I will follow up with you.
Thanks again,
Bob Davis (Red Dog) - Event coordinator

Hello Red Dog & Others,
I will be planning to attend some of the days of the event, but probably not all.
My screen name is: KERN
Residence: Kimberling City, MO
My wife Janet may attend part of the event.
We will be bringing a Sapphire Silver Blue SRT6 Roadster
I will probably drive home each day that I attend as we live within an hour. I will probably also not take part in the tours as I get the opportunity to drive these roads every day.
Red Dog - as I mentioned, I would be willing to present the classroom portion of the high performance driving schools that I have taught. Perhaps we can correspond by private e-mail to work out the logistics if this presentation is desired. My e-mail address is: kern@satcarracing.com.

Taking part in the daily runs is very fun as you can join 10 to 12 other Crossfires and enjoy the roads together all day
We would be interested in having you as one of our group leaders since you know the area well
Please consider joining all of us for the daily runs
We also have a police escorted parade through downtown Eureka Springs one afternoon leaving from our hotel at 3pm
I look forward to meeting you !!
Gary

Gary,
I have only been in the Ozarks area about four years. I know the roads near where I live but am not that familiar with NW Arkansas.
I will beg off leading a tour as I do not have time to create a route (too many projects, not enough time), even though I have been involved in organizing 1000 mile rallies in the past.
I do not know how your tours are organized but I read in one of my motorcycle magazines about an interesting way that some group tours are organized. The cars start at about one minute intervals. The lead car drives to the first decision intersection and stops to wait for the next car. When car 2 arrives, the lead car sets off to the next decision point and car 2 waits for car 3. In sequence, each car waits at each decision point then drives to the next. This allows each car to drive at the pace they want without being held up by slower cars or holding up faster cars. I have never tried it but it sounds like a great way to organize a tour.

We have pre determined routes set up in advance and travel together in groups of 10 to 12 Crossfires all using 2 way radios to communicate
The most important 2 that maintain communication are the lead car and the tail car to be sure the group is together at each turn along the route
We also have a lunch stop together along the way each day
Our runs our generally going on 4 to 6 different mapped out routes each day Monday thru Thursday

Is it possible for someone to describe the type of roads and driving that this event has? The tail of the dragon event provided more "spirited" driving than I anticipated. Not that I didn't enjoy it but was not expecting it. Are these roads the same or a bit more "tourist " type?

Yes, I agree with Dennis' answer too. Most of the roads we run during our Crossfire Fun in the Ozarks event are more tame than the roads in our Tail of the Dragon event. Check out our Facebook page for more information / photos / videos. https://www.facebook.com/crossfirefunintheozarks/
In my opinion, the MOST FUN road in the area is County Road "F" (we've come to refer to it as "F" for FUN). It is steep up and down road like being on a roller coaster! There is a a video from Gary Wemple. Sorry but for some reason I can't get the link to show up here in this post. When you visit our main Facebook page, click on the "videos" tab to the left. It's the second video you'll find there.
Hope to see you in Eureka Springs!

Hello Tom, So . . . does this mean that your right arm was sore and turned black & blue from Patti punching you in the arm and yelling for you to slow down?

I would also agree that we are not quite as spirited in our runs as some of the groups at our Fontana event; the key is to drive at the pace you are comfortable with and not feel pressured to go faster than that. Stick near the back of the group, and know that we always wait up ahead somewhere for any stragglers, and there is always a tail car with a good radio so we don’t lose communication with the lead car.
I also really LOVE Road F aka Roller Coaster Road.
This event also skews a little older in age than the Dragon group, and I think more people choose to go off and do their own thing (like shopping). It’s a different vibe than our fall event, and I love them both for different reasons.
I highly recommend it!!!

Hello Crossfire lovers,
A big part of the joy in owning a Crossfire is joining and meeting others who share your passion for our great little cars. It's time to make your plans and make your reservations for the good time at Crossfire Fun in the Ozarks (Round 5) . . . JUST DO IT!

I think I have a new route/activity for us - the "Museum and Countryside Tour".
Three museums and some beautiful roads in AR/MO/OK. The high Sunday will be nearly 70F, I will take the car and do some driving to work on a route.
