Did put the dust covers on the brakes. This way my wife can put her 4 suitcases in the truck. She wants to take the dog and I told her if the dog goes I will half to stay home no place for me to ride. We are leaving thursday morning next week.
Spare wheel and tire is always handy if ya have room to bring one
No dogs allowed at Fontana Lodge without a hefty non refundable $$$$ deposit

This will be a LONG week, flying to Wilmington, NC again. NEXT week, I get to stay in the office and work 7 hour days - so Dragon prep (which is mostly done) will be easier to accomplish than in years past.

Car is detailed, but Iv'e got to make some sort of suitable antenna mount for my FRS radio, degrease my engine from the valve cover leak (that I let go TOO LONG) and clean/polish the exhaust nozzels.

Great to see that nearly half of the group will be first timers, i know that they will be so excited about the weekend, i can guarantee that they will return again and again as the regulars do. As Gary once told me you go the first time for the cars and return each year to see the friends you have made. When people say we are like a family its no exageration. This will be my 8th Dragon and i can honestly say that the friends i have made in the group are the best, we are there for each other for car support and for any personal things that life gives us. I remember my first Dragon very well, i am 6'4" and as i climbed out of my roadster in the lodge parking lot the comments began, " how did you managed to squeeze yourself in" , " is your head above the windshield" , etc, etc. I had made new friends before i had even checked in. The banter never stopped the whole weekend. I was hooked. I have returned for every Dragon since and now class many of the regulars as very close friends.

Here are a few things that will make your weekend go smoother, bring along a set of walkie talkies, great for runs to stay in touch. A flashlight, it is very dark if walking around between the buildings and you can easily trip. Some rainwear ( just in case), sunscreen even this time of year can be hard on roadster owners, any booze you might want to consume in the evenings (discretely of course), a few bottles of water for use during the day, your camera to capture those never to be forgotten moments, and last but not least your smile ( which will not leave you for the whole weekend).

There are always people in the group that bring along spares, such as hoses, belts and bulbs, so if during the weekend you have any failure in your car, shout out, someone will be able to help you i am sure.

Most of all have a great weekend and make new friends, get to know your car and be sure to come back in the fall.

Looking forward to meeting new friends to be, and all my old friends again.

Please dont feel left out we are a very friendly bunch and love hearing new stories and exploits about our cars , so join us all for a great weekend.

See you all very soon
Andy

Normally I get in on Thursday afternoon but I've had a medical issue come up and have a doctors appointment at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore on Thursday 3/31 at 9:30am so we'll be leaving after the appointment and should get to the lodge sometime after dark. Hopefully by 9:00pm.

Today I to Jordan Auto Parts and bought a rear tire and rim for a 2005 Crossfire. They had 3 wrecked Crossfire in there yard. I got to pick the tire and rim for $150 plus a old rim off anything to trade in. The tire is like new. Plus the rim is perfect so I am happy now. I will be trailering my Crossfire down to N.C. the end of the month. Haven't tried to put the tire in the trunk but I will have it in the truck if needed. I didn't think that was to bad for tire and rim plus center cap.

That answers my question, "Who will be the third leader?"

Its a 10 hour drive for us. We will leave at 5 AM. Should be there around 4 PM. That is no trouble along the way. I got to mow the yards today and tomorrow if it don't rain. Will spend all week getting ready for Thursday.

We are also from Pa. We have to meet up at the dragon. We probably won't get to the lodge until Friday. Want to do a little sightseeing on the way south. Ron and Jenny
