Arrived home yesterday afternoon. Had a good run through Hell Bender and the Dragon on my way out.
I've also managed to wash, and clay my car yesterday. Currently waiting on the first coat of wax to cure before I buff it off.

Glad you made it home Nick. I took I-40 thru Nashville and had no issues for the first time ever.
Question, Why are you waxing a FORD?

Answer, Because it's never been done before
Tammy and I left the lodge this morning headed out on the Cherohala skyway and stopped at Bald River Falls
Then headed out from Tellico Plains toward Nashville and decided to stop in Murfreesboro, Tennessee for the night
Tomorrow we check out Nashville and then see where to go from there.
All the rain here in the Carolina's has moved out and the sun is shining once again

So my alternator (the one I put on in June for my CAA6 trip) failed on the way home from the Dragon. Bought it at NAPA and lost the receipt. The guy at the store found my purchase in the computer, apologized for it failing, and will have a new one by 4pm today for me.
NAPA is making me a believer, first, they were the ONLY store who could get me one in four hours on a Saturday, NOW they can replace it without a receipt!

Thanks again for your lunch invite!.. but we decided to burn some highway.. stopped in for gas with a DQ on the side.. grabbed a quick burger. Not too bad a drive.. TOMTOM said we'd arrive at 10:48 PM.. fuel stops and dinner we hit the door at 11:18 PM. Was a good drive home other than an idiot that thought he could run up the side of the line of cars passing a big rig and take my lane position by trying to sliding his door into mine.. he figured that wasn't going to work out and dropped back to the end of the line.
I guess he learned his turn signal does not give him "right of way"..

I dealt with that same idiot or maybe it was his his cousin. Aren't they all related down there in Tennessee?
I-40 was one truck after another with a side car keeping pace for mile after mile on the rear quarter. The number of times someone tried to butt up was incredible.
Got to Kentucky and the problem went away.

If your parts fail after four months, perhaps it is a good idea to have great service.
Just ribbin'
Glad you made it home safe and sound. You and the dynamic girls from Chi town ( Dee and Ames) have a lot to do with the coming Spring event.
Get crackin'!

Anyone else remember seeing these people? ALL VOLUNTEERS.
Re: 9th Annual Fall 2015 - Tail of the Dragon GTG-October 1, 2, 3, 4
Hello everyone
My wife and I left Fontana Lodge on Monday morning after everyone else had departed.
Its a lonely feeling to be the last one to leave...thinking of all the people that occupied the lobby just a few nights before.
Anyway we stopped off at the nearby "Historic Tapoco Lodge" to check out the property and then onward for a final run through the Chreohala Skyway with a stop at Bald River Falls.
We then continued on to a hotel outside the city of Nashville and spent Monday night there
On Tuesday we spent the whole day checking out the sites in Nashville.
We toured the "Belmont Mansion", and saw the "Parthenon", "The RCA studio B" and "The Bridgestone Arena"
We drove down "Music Row" and then more areas Downtown before having some lunch at "Merchants Restaurant" on Broadway
Then heading out of town we stopped to see the "Grand Ole Opry"
We finally headed the 8 hours home after a full day in Nashville and arrived at 2am back at home ready to sleep
I just want to thank everyone for coming and I especially enjoyed meeting the new folks who joined us
I hope to make the trip back next year but in case I can't ....
I have left the Fall Dragon in the competent hands of our member AKING57
I have attached 2 links below
One link with my pics from the Smokey Mountain train ride that some of us took on Saturday out from Bryson City
and One link with pics from our weekend at the Dragon and our visit to Nashville on the way home.
After clicking the link click the diagonal arrow in the right lower corner for full screen view
Have a safe winter season wherever you live and I hope to see many of you at an event next year and of course I will still be here on the forum regularly as usual

Valk - Great pics! Thanks for posting and for the usual superb job of organizing the 9th Fall TOD.
James1549 - Thanks for setting up the train excursion. It was clearly a home run.
Osofast2 - Sat night dinner with you and Susan was a hoot. Next time we'll bring credit cards that work....

Gary, Thank you so much for posting the Pictures. I am so glad you were able to bring Tammy along this time. She is a delight.
Attending these events without you partner can be less satisfying. Like you, a good many ribbings about actually having a wife are humorous but of little help. This especially true when your wife really is the better half.
I know.
The Photo of Bob and Cindy is excellent. They too bring life to any gathering. Glad Reddog is heading CICCI. Like so many that attended the meet, they are excellent examples of the lifeblood of our group. I look forward to their leadership.
I have been so busy since I got back that I haven't had time to clean the Crossfire from the trip. The front is covered in bugs, the sides with mud from my turkey hunt, the interior with receipts from all the neat places we visited in three short days. In some ways, part of me doesn't want to erase the evidence of a really special weekend with old, and new, friends.
Again, thanks for recording those precious moments.

I can't say just how much fun I had!!!! I was so happy to be able to get away from "life" even if it was for just a few days! it was great to see old friends and make new friends! Gary, you might want to update your attendance list and add me. I know it was last minute and a surprise but I was there!

Two of my most favorite ladies.
Obviously you do have a way with the ladies. My hat is off to you Mark.
I will presume they will remember their first time!
