If you are traveling from TN/SC/NC/GA/AL/FL and NOT going to Branson on Friday, but are arriving in Eureka Springs Sunday, please check this thread:
https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...tml#post836018

I am trying to make plans on what route I want to take and who I can hook up with...

Hi RE Lowe,

Are you still planning to come through Wichita, KS from Colorado and staying Sat. night June 13?

If so, we have put together a morning run with a couple of local Crossfire owners.....leaving Sun. morning for a short trip (45 minute to 1 hr.) out to Beaumont, KS for breakfast at the Beaumont Airport/Hotel/Restaurant. This is on highway 400 on our way to Eureka Springs.

Let us know if you are interested?

Sounds doable. Might consider just spending the night in Beaumont and meeting for breakfast and heading out. Are any of your CF owners going to the Springs? Also, it's about a 10 hour run to the Springs from Beaumont? If so, need a pretty early start.

10 hour run ?
You have a different Goggle map than I have then.
Mine says 231 miles, 4 hours.

The other Crossfire owners from Wichita are only in for the breakfast run to Beaumont. Marty & I will be continuing on to the Springs after breakfast.

Wichita Ks to Beaumont Ks is appx. 53 minutes (45.7 miles)

Beaumont KS to Eureka Springs AR is appx. 4 hrs (276.3 miles)

We are so ready to get on the road!!!

That was a question, not a statement. I have since looked at mapquest.

I'm playing with MapQuest now and spending the night in Wichita (or Beaumont) and continuing the next am looks like a good option. I get the long leg done the first day so I'm not so tired upon arriving in the Springs.

Sounds like a good plan to me too.......cause with these Crossfire people....you'd better be saddled up and ready to go. It is a blast.

See you in a few weeks.

There isn't much in Beaumont, except the old historic hotel and restaurant, and a grass airfield. I have flown in there for breakfast a couple of times, and you could taxi right out of the field, down the street a few blocks and park the plane next to the hotel. They have fly ins there from time to time. If you like airplanes, you might see one taxi down the street, and you won't see that in Wichita, for sure.

I re-read my post, and it sounded border line negative, which wasn't my intent. The town is definitely unique, hotel historic, and the last time I was there, several years ago, the food was Greeeeeeeat, as Tony the Tiger would say. You can go to Wichita any time, but the old hotel may not be there for ever. Have fun!

Actually an earlier post indicated that there might be different styles of shirts, and I would prefer a white golf shirt style with a collar, if possible. No, I'm not a golfer, that's a woman's sport. Real men don't eat quiche or play golf................ Ok, ok, I wasn't worth a darn, so I quit. None the less, it's a woman's sport.

Thanks for the clarification. That explains why I couldn't figure it out. I read every thread twice, and thought I was missing something or losing my mind again.
