I know the feeling Mark. Seems work get in the way of vacation every year, but I fighting it off for this trip and the fall dragon. There's 2 of my 4... The other 2 go to the house this year...see you there. I may travel down that way as well. We have seed dealers all thru KY and TN now...

I'm very familiar with 60 across southern MO. My youngest son went to UMR and we drove that stretch crossing over from Paducah into Sikeston until we picked up 63 to go north. Road was being widened back then, so the 4-lane design should be a nice trip. Just may have to consider that route.
Later,
Later,
It's still curvy and the scenery is decent.
Go south at 65 thru Branson. You'll likely be at the end of the trip and too tired to take a squirrely route.
Past Poplar Bluff not much for good eats.
65 south of 60 has decent restaurants, Freemont Hills and then Ozark, if you are hungry.
Some might suggest 160 instead. It is lower and hits 65 20 miles south but, it will take a lot of time. Just outside of West plains Is a decent BBQ worth the trip. But coming all the way from SC,,,, I would pass
No, if convenience and speed is your target, coming all the way via I-40 to fort smith, then going north via I-540 gets you almost there on interstate. You will miss Branson traffic. If Branson is your destination before the CAA then I would suggest I-540 as the best way home.
I-540 is completed and has views that rival I-81 north out of Asheville NC. Awesome mountains.

Hey, out there! My husband and I are new to the Crossfire community and stumbled across this forum. We have not attended any of your events before. We are interested in attending this one in Eureka Springs, but do not know how to go about signing up, or finding out if there is a schedule of events, etc. We might not be able to spend the whole week, but live only 2 hours away and could do at least part of it. Could anyone please help us out with this?

Just post that you will be attending and Mrmiata (Greg) will add your names to the list at the beginning of this thread
Look at the info at the beginning of this thread in Post #2 for hotel info and make a reservation for your room for the nights you will be staying
The is no calendar of events set yet but we will be driving each day in groups around the area on Monday thru Thursday and there is a BBQ to attend on Wednesday night
Come join us and meet a bunch of real Crossfire enthusiasts.
Mrmiata is the host of this event and might add more info as we get closer to the event

Greg, It appears your bold move last fall is paying off. Over 60 cars to a CAA WOW!
And so many Nubies!

Just a note (because the information gets lost within this thread) . . . Several of us are heading to Branson MO for a day or two prior to the start of CAA#6 in Eureka Springs. See post #280 in this thread for the start of information on the pre-event in Branson MO (the link below should take you right there). We hope to meet some of you in Branson!

We are gradually approaching the record number of Crossfires at a single event
84 still holds the record attending the Fall 2010 Dragon meet
Can we break the record ??
Still 6 more weeks to sign up and join us
Either way this is gonna be a fabulous event and I'm excited to be there
