Arizona Tucson/Phoenix meet up
Re: Arizona Tucson/Phoenix meet up
OK ... you 2 plus me is 3. That's a start to a GTG. I think we should plan a little ahead, and start a whole new thread maybe to attract others. Set a date sometime in November or December, and label the thread something like,, "Arizona Cruise and Meet - November/or/December XX,2013". Give details in the thread, and keep a head count, showing forum name and location. Once a date and plan is set, more owners may want to join in. Remember the line from Field of Dreams, "Build it, and they will come". I'm really new here in Arizona, but it looks like there are some scenic rides SW of Tucson on 10 and down toward Tombstone (is this the infamous old west town?). From there head southwest to Nogales (on the border) and head back up North on 19 to Tucson. I read that 19 between Tucson and Nogales is marked in metric mileages and maybe speed limits in klilometers per hour, which would make that part a little interesting. I don't feel like crossing into Mexico, but if anyone wants to, they can. What do you think? I'd be happy to start that thread and keep a head count. Maybe this cruise is too much for some as it probably will be a whole day, and if you just want to meet up somewhere and swap stories and tips, and have a lunch, that's ok for me also. I just thought it would be great to see some of this great state.

Re: Arizona Tucson/Phoenix meet up
Im down for a gtg! November sounds good, tombstone would be alot of fun, maybe bisbee as well. On a tangent, I took the mini dragon to the track today,, and recorded a 15.342 quarter mile at 88.9 mph, not bad! I beat a cute little honda, but lost to a turboed mazda 6, dont really feel too bad about that though, we should go drag race our cars!
Re: Arizona Tucson/Phoenix meet up
My sister is on vacation right now in the Tucson area
These are some comments on Facebook that I shared with them:
Tucson is especially great for drives in the mountains with the top down.
I recommend going up the curvy road toward Mt Lemmon, go to Summerville and try the homemade cookies at the Cookie Shack,
They're as big as the dinner plate! Mmmmm.
Their pizza is yummy too.
Gates Pass is on the way to Old Tucson.
The scenery in some parts of CAA4 thru Big Bend reminded her of that part of AZ but with a LOT less traffic.
They are currently here camping > Catalina State Park, just north of Tucson.
