Good to hear Evan and Carl. Not good to hear Steve. Still important to see old friends and meet new friends at the Dragon. Still haven't gotten an in person look at your car. Was hoping to do that as well as see you again in April.

Put "Chrysler Crossfire Owners" in the search bar there, it should come up.

Default Road to Nowhere and Goldmine Loop Trail

My Friday run this year is to the Road to Nowhere. A couple years ago Howard, Jim and I went up this way. It’s a decent run that takes you through Bryson City, where we will have lunch, and ends just before a dark tunnel with a huge parking area. From there we will go through the tunnel on foot and hike the 3 mile Goldmine Loop Trail. If you decide you do not wish to hike 3 miles you’re more than welcome to head back to the Lodge, or Bryson City.

My group is generally a moderately aggressive. This means we drive quickly through the twisty bits, and 5-10 over on the straight bits.

Just a 82 mile day, should be pretty relaxed and different from what we're use to.

Here is more information about the road and how it came to be.

We generally wait on Jim (BigKid) to arrive so we normally leave around 10:00. It's nice having one day to sleep in a bit considering the rest of the weekend we're up at 7:00 and ready to ship out at 9:00.

Got you, Ron. I put you down as a first-timer, but I bet that is not right, is it?

And Nick, I suspect I'll be going with you Friday as well - we'll see, I'll make up my mind last-minute, I'm sure.

No worries Mark. You know I'm pretty easy going on Fridays. Especially when I'm not trying to squeeze in a crazy day. The Hike sounds fun to be honest.

Pizza,

I'm a first-timer for these Dragon Crossfire adventures. We just returned to the Crossfire fold in December, when we picked up a near-mint condition roadster with only 8600 miles at a dealer near Knoxville. Living in Northern Virginia in 2004, I bought a new Alabaster roadster when they first became available, and did several events with REDCROSS and the original Crossfire club before trading it in September 2005. I was also very active in the Viper club from 1997-2006.

Today my days of driving aggressively on the street are behind me. I've been through a lot of the roads in that area on a Harley. The Crossfire is going to enable us to continue to enjoy the pleasures of open-air motoring without suffering the discomfort of multiple hours sitting on a motorcycle. The Cruiser group is just fine for us.

That's Jonathan's (Pacemaker) group and you'll certainly love that journey. I haven't ever been on it, but I have only heard positive reviews. One day I will join his group for a ride.

What's that all about... who would I get in trouble with if you aren't there. I can't go in the spring anyway, but the fall is always a possibility. Looks like John is making an honest woman out of Molly. Maybe you and I can crash that party....lol Wedding crashers. I will get some practice in that area come March.

If we come, we won't make it in time for this, but let me know how it is, it sounds like a great mix of driving and stretching your legs...
