Apparently they have opened the boat cruises early this year and I have been in contact with them about reserving a boat or at least some spots on the boat for another sunset cruise.

If I hear enough from people who will see this that they are interested, I will try, but if not, Molly and I may go and if anyone wants to go, they can come as well...

I believe it was $15 per person last time, and WELL worth it if you enjoy seeing the Dragon from another perspective and hearing a lot of interesting history on the area.

Ok, I have spoken to the powers that be and I THINK we may be good to go for a boat cruise Saturday evening. They are only currently offering a single cruise at 2PM and I think that would cut into the driving activites, so I asked if we could fill the whole boat (15-20 people) would they do a sunset cruise for us? He is asking the captain and getting back with me tomorrow.

Last time we did a sunset cruise and it was perfect, allowed everyone to do their respective runs and get back to the lodge in time to relax a little then go for a cruise. I am going to go over this at the driver's meeting and those who wish to go can speak with me then. It is about an hour long, coolers are welcomed, and it is a great time.

The only way to get on the boat is to talk to me

last time people were upset they were unable to go, but there is only so much room on the boat, and I did not appreciate some people's attitudes who were unable to go. I do this because Molly and I want to go, if I can help others, great, but it is not worth the trouble to be yelled at for trying to help someone so this is totally FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED of those who speak with me, and I will be keep a list.

I've been stuck in Denver since 5:30AM trying to get a flight that will actually go to Knoxville. The flight I'm booked on now is delayed another two hours. I'll be lucky to get to the lodge by 3AM at this point.

i don't know if anyone has heard from mark but his Facebook post was he is in the hospital. the bronchitis turns out to be pneumonia with a heart ailment. dr has him listed as critical. they are medicating to try to get his heart under control. hoping for the best for him

heres his post
I was admitted to Room 5026 at Northside Hospital in Cumming last night. I'd been fighthing Bronchitis that was not Bronchitis. I have pneumonia with some form of heart ailment. I was told I was critical and here I sit. They are seeeing if medication can get my heart back on track. Not sure what will follow after discharge, the pneumonia is bad enough.

I had this 16x20 collage made which shows our Fall 2010 group of 84 Crossfires at Fontana Dam and the other photo of our group in Fall 2012 on the baseball field at the Fontana Lodge

I will be presenting this to the Fontana Lodge management staff to be hung on the wall in the lodge with several other car club group photos.
