It was 70ºs here in Nashville today and I left the Mercedes in the garage because it is clean and prepped for the Dragon. It was really hard considering this has been the first really warm day we've had since fall.

Post 3 has the run info I know of. Post 4 is about Nicks Friday run.

Also, I'm gonna run the dragon at about 8am if I can pull myself from bed.

Then, Nick takes us to Bryson City and "the road to nowhere" at 10 am. That is all I know of.

There was talk that Nick might run the Skyway later in the day, cause the run he's taking us on won't be long. But if not, and maybe even if he does, I may run the Dragon (oh hell, I know I will) later in the day once again, with a run up to the lookout tower on the Parkway at the far end of the Dragon. You can run that with me, I'm sure you will be there by then (around 2 or 3 I guess). If the weather clear, you can see Knoxville and the ridge way past I-75 from up there, not to mention a lot of the SMoky's park.

I'm driving up on Thursday as well, should be there by late afternoon. This is a first time for my wife and I so I hope to get a slow run on the dragon before dark if I can stand to be in the car after the drive out there. if not early Friday morning sounds good to me.

WHEN WILL YOU PEOPLE LEARN? (See this is why you should sit around reading thread of past GTG's )

I can help there. Nick says we leave for our run at 10 - if we head out by 8:30, even a slow ride puts us back at the Lodge by 10. (I'll take the slow lead if you want, then when we reach the end, I'm gonna want to 'hit it' on the way back, but you'll know the way so I guess it doesn't matter.)

I texted him about 8 hours ago - no word back yet. I cant remember if he told me he was not coming or if I am thinking of you.

Hate to see either of you miss it - we will miss you.

For our first-timers - look at this video, the first 5 minutes. It is SUPPOSED to be Tourist class, but the first segment is very much "Moderate" class (at 3:54 he takes a 15mph curve somewhere between 30 and 40).

Notice his technique - two hands on the wheel, very smooth with the wheel - no jerking or panicking. Watch the girls' head - you can see the gforces as she sways side to side, but notice something - few times that she lunges forward - this means he in not braking suddenly at the last (too late) moment.

IT takes time to get this good - wish I'd seen this video years ago - these are things I had to learn from other drivers at the Dragon.

Hi Nick, it’s just I don’t get a chance to post a lot – way too busy – but yes you’d recognize me – we chatted lots of times since when you still driving yr graphite SRT – last year I was there first on Thu – see you soon!

He's also got the cutest co-pilot I've ever seen at a Dragon GTG. (I told them both that at dinner - she was so humble but appreciative!)

I just dont think we'll ever see her again, neither does he.

But are you gonna be there on Thursday THIS time? Several of us will be. I imagine we'll be having dinner at the Grill sometime between 5 and 7.

I have less self control when it comes to my car. I had it all shined up for the Dragon but I am supposed to get into rain on the way in so I said screw it and drove it today to the office. I don't think I will touch it again until we arrive, and even then, it is supposed to rain Friday

But it is alsop supposed to be partly cloudy and 65-70 Saturday and Sunday and that is what I care about

I got my top treated, and oil changed - but have not detailed at all. Still sick with a fever. I should make it to the meet - but the car won't be shined like I want it to be.

At this point, just making it to see everyone is going to be good enough.

John, you were not on the list, how did I miss you? I added you and indicated that Molly was coming as well -hope she is!
