Re: Crossfires Across America #5 - The Two Mile High Adventure - July 7-10, 2014
We made it home @ 3:30pm today with 3k more miles on the Xfire. Thank you to all the CCC folks and attendees that made this such a great and memorable event! We enjoyed all the scenery and meeting old friends & making new. I'm just now getting a chance to go through all the photos I took and will post some of my favorites.

Got home safely at 2pm on Saturday
Got the car all detailed and clean
Fantastic trip
3729 miles in seven days
10 tanks of gas
Highest elevation on Mount Evans 14152 feet
Most beautiful trips through the mountains each day and even better in my Crossfire !!
Thanks to all who made this wonderful week possible
So many fantastic routes to run through the mountains were arranged every day !!!
Goodie bags filled with cool stuff for everyone
A Crossfire car show in the parking lot at the hotel with so many trophy winners
And then the BBQ at the hotel done by the CCC folks to wind things down at the end of the week
You did a fantastic job with the planning and all the extras too
A great time was had by all !!!
39 Crossfires attended

Wow! CAA5 was the Chinese Olympics version of CAAs. A colossal event of epic proportions. No greater thrill than whipping along a mountain road in a line of 17 Crossfires. Many many thanks to all who helped make this a really great event. Thank you Colorado Crossfire Club. Marilyn and I got home yesterday afternoon after a stop in Monument Valley and lunch at the Grand Canyon Hotel in Williams AZ. Thanks to Howard (IBLUBYU), with GPS and radar for leading us up and halfway back. So many good memories. Thanks again .

Thanks to the Colorado Crossfire for a great time. Freida and I saw the Colorado Rockies from a different angle (our earlier visits have been to the Easter Slope) and loved every bit of it. We enjoyed meeting old friends and making new ones.
We left early Friday morning to continue our trip back home with stops in Taos, Santa Fe, and Roswell, New Mexico. We stayed tin Santa Fe Friday night with Comfort Suites again. We planned our return through Roswell, N.M. which would have given us 470 mils of 2 lane roads home.. A little bobble in leaving Santa Fe added 154 miles of 2 lanes to our return home. -- What's 624 miles of 2 lanes to a Crossfire -- We just saw a little more or New Mexico than we intended. I believe that Freida and I were the only aliens in Roswell. We got safely home late Saturday evening.
Great trip and can hardly wait till next year.
Geezer Joe and Freida.

Me and Dan (danimal) were driving down the street in Rifle, Co and came upon this corner bar.
We read the name and thought of one of our good friends that has passed away recently.
I wish he was still here to see this .....just needed to post a few pics of it

I'm coming up on my 5 years at Kenwood. I THINK we get three weeks vacation after five years - if so, I will be in on the next CAA.
It kinda hurts to see this thread, the pictures, and the stuff on Facebook - knowing I wasn't there.

Made it back to deep East TX yesterday afternoon . Made a 700 mile run to Wichita KS Fri. Then to OKC Sat and spent the night with family, then to Ft Worth Sun and spent night with grand kids. A big thank you to the Colo group for all the hard work in making a fantastic week filled with great memories possible. Y'all are the best! Thanks also to the Tx and Okla group for the fun time traveling with them. So good seeing old friends and making new ones.
Also, we were happy to get to talk to Helena Nevin (our beloved JoeJet's wife.) We did not get to see her as she was away at a
reunion but we left the trophy, name tags and card at her home for her. She said she missed seeing everyone and sends her thanks for your kindness during this difficult time.
May God continue to bless you all with a great year. See you in 2015, y'all!!

This was my trip of a lifetime, I enjoyed it so much . I was in heaven with all the wonderful scenery, the cars , the great people. Apart from my slight scare with the blown front tire the trip was great fun. I stayed in 7 hotels in 10 days did a total of 5000 miles. Almost time for another oil change. The people I met, new and old friends, really made the experience worthwhile. I am still processing my pictures and hope to post a link here and on FB by the weekend.
Thanks Gary for sharing a room with me for 2 nights and having the spare wheel and tire which saved the day after hitting the rock at 75 mph.
Thanks to Evan, Rob, Maryln and all the others that organized the event, it was very well done. I enjoyed every run I went on.
Thanks again
Andy

I knew with 39 Crossfires in the mountains someone might need it in an emergency
I'm glad you were running in our group so the recovery was quite simple
