Crossfires Across America #5 - The Two Mile High Adventure - July 7-10, 2014
Re: Crossfires Across America #5 - The Two Mile High Adventure - July 7-10, 2014
Left the tall pines of deep East Texas yesterday. Staying with my son near TMS awaiting formation of the DFW convoy in the morning at the Waffle House near Texas Motor Speedway. Looking forward to seeing Dan, Danny and Joe again and anybody else that might show up. We might need to run a few laps around the track to warm up for the Rifle trip. D&P

We left Aurora, Ill this morning at 8:30am with Crossfirefrank and wife Sue and Annette (2005XFire)
We made a connection with Andrew (AKING57) in Lincoln, Nebraska and decided to continue on west to North Platte, Nebraska where we are now.
Had a great dinner of Steaks and Ribs etc and now chillin' before bed a bit
We ran 709 miles today from my house and only 283 miles tomorrow to Homewood suites in Englewood Co.
http://mapq.st/1mhdTFF
We expect to arrive around 1:00 and will meet James and Tammi (James1549) at the hotel in Englewood and check in if they allow us to.
Then the plan is to head south 50 minutes down to Colorado Springs and go up to the top of Pikes Peak.
Probably then return to the hotel and refresh and rest up for dinner at 7:30pm
Such a good time already just driving out west together and still a whole week of good times ahead for us
Drive safely everyone and we will see you on Sunday in Rifle

I spoke with singeron today as he and his wife settled into their hotel here in St Peters MO. We had planned drinks but my old brain had forgotten the family event at my company in Wentzville to watch that town's fireworks.
He should get a good view of the local display about a mile west of his 4th floor window.
Best of luck to him, his companion and all of you who could rub two nickels together and go this year.
I will again have to enjoy the event vicariously thru your postings. So keep them coming.

Looks like you're having a great time already. Sure wish Cindy and I could have made this trip . . .
Thought you might want to check out "Shooters" restaurant in Rifle CO. It looks like an interesting place but you'd better behave yourselves while there!
