I wish it were over a weekend so that I don't have to take off work, but I should be able to figure this out. I ran the math and the gas is affordable if I drove 1000 miles total once their. The gas their is CHEAP too, so that makes it nice lol. The hotel? Should be affordable. Getting enough leave saved up before this? Maybe. It would mean not taking leave between now and then, and I still may not have enough saved up lol. I'll talk to my employer and get back to you.

You go, and I'll try to go. We can share a room ( as long as it has 2 beds )

Sounds good, I need to figure out how much leave I could accumulate. If I go though, it's probably pretty likely I'd be bringing a girl, so yeah, two beds. LMAO!

Put Geezer Joe and Ms. Freida from Dallas on the list. We enjoyed last years trip to Alpine and our rowdy friends, so we thought we would do it again in Rifle.

Hotel Res are already done.

Seems like a LONG way to drive just to drive roads that are nothing like the Dragon...

Well, I flew to SLC then to Grand Junction this week - then drove to Moab, UT. Just got back home last night, in fact.
From what I saw in the air, then the time I spend in Moab, I can see what "the big deal" is.

I am re-considering my "way too far for me" statement last fall.

(I mean, I flew out there and back for one day's work, so.....)

Mark,
I've driven in Colorado many times years ago and I can tell you that it is worth the trip almost any distance to be able to do it in a Crossfire and be among others with Crossfires just as we do every year at the Dragon but with even more incredible roads spread over hundreds of miles up in the cooler higher elevations in the mountains
