I really enjoyed my first Dragon (Friday with Franc)... All the folks were very nice and cordial...attitudes that made me feel a "part of",, Sorry I had to leave in an emergency Sat early AM ( my wife has multiple health issues that are very volatile). I will be back in the Spring for sure... I don't want to miss the "Daniel Boone Run" again...(just kidding, Franc). Carl

Post in the spring thread when you make your reservation and I'll add you to the list.
Make sure you tell me what state you are coming from, too. (I know I should know, but it was a whirlwind weekend...)

I think that boy needs some prunes.

I think Shaun looks like Ernest P. Worrell. Carl, sorry you had to leave, hope everything is ok. Janet and I truly enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to the next fall dragon. Carlo

Next Fall Dragon, assuming I survive our CAA5 & post trip to Wyoming, I plan on a super off road run. Put some nobby mud tires on that SRT and a High lift kit.

Sorry Big Kid, it won't be this Spring, we are planning a trip to California and then up Hwy 1 along the coast to Seattle to visit Jack's son. We will be back in the Fall 2014 and we will join you then. We just love it there and the roads are just up my alley.

And to think, MOST people with a crossfire miss out on the fun of the Dragon.
Let not Shawn's picture fool you, that kid can DRIVE. He and his humble N/A coupe kept up just fine with Nick and his V8 SLK55 Saturday.

Shawn,
Great to meet you this weekend. Your sneaky photo of your face at the baseball field is priceless. Great to follow you and Nick through Cherohala.

I really like the Dragon run just before that (just watched the raw video on your channel) - that was a good run - even with the slow harley, we did overlook to state line in 14:02 or so. Pretty good run considering the harley slowed us for at least a mile, maybe two.

This weekend went by way too fast. I only ran the dragon four times and hellbender hill twice.
I may have to go back for a day this fall - maybe the Sunday before thanksgiving again, like last year.

My favorite runs from the weekend. Well I've got two, and one wasn't even on the road.
Dementor (Joe and Ken), Easley15 (Shawn) and I went to the extreme go cart center in Pigeon Forge. On our last race I started behind Shawn by a few seconds and lap after lap I was gaining position on him. The further we got in the race the closer I got and the closer I got the more mistake shawn would make. Finally I made it to his back bumper and he broad slid into the wall allowing me to get along side of him and the little **** decided to run me into the tire wall I didn't win that race, but had one hell of a good time.
The other run was on the way back to the lodge after riding the *** of a 560hp Camaro through the dragon. I think we upset him because Shawn was able to keep up with him through the twisties with less than half the horse power. Anyway, Shawn took off through hell bender and it was one of those rare occurrences where we didn't run into any traffic. Every bend was taken at full tilt. I'm quite convinced that in equal cars he might actually give me a run for my money. Personally I've never like Hell Bender, but I think a lot of that has to do with the time of day I tend to hit it. Early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Tires are cold and less grippy in the morning and I'm exhausted and just ready for a drink in the afternoon. The Skyway is by far my favorite route and that day we had a damn good go at it. Pizza got a ticket, but we didn't run into any traffic until the last 3 or 4 miles. I may have come across as an asshat, but I'm glad we left at 9:00. Otherwise we may not have been able to have that fun run.
