But it's all in how you look at it. That was the fastest run I have ever seen, and I was part of it.

Wayne, I am sorry if we went too fast for you guys. Maybe in the spring we should split the group and have those who want to go really slow hold back and then have everyone meet at Deals Gap

Made it home at 4pm after a run over the Cherohala Skyway ( which was very misty).

This was my favorite Dragon so far, I had such a good time, the weather was perfect, some great days out , good food, and most of all some great new friends made, and existing friendships strengthened.

Apart from the driving, what makes these events so special to me and makes me want to come back twice a year is the you. Yes everyone reading this right now, you are the people that make a Dragon event so special. The cars give us all a common bond, but it's the friendships that are created sitting in the lounge every evening that really make our whole group bond together.

We have such a diverse group of characters and each one of you in your own way add to the "family" that is the Crossfire Forum.

I may not have sat down and spoken to everyone but every event a few more people become friends.

Thanks Gary , Ray, Michael, Franc, Jonathon, Nick, Evan, Mark and anyone else, who organized any runs.

Thanks also to Crazy Shaun for making me laugh so much, you and Nick really add a sparkle to the group.

I will post a link to my website this week so that you can check out some of the Dragon meeting pictures and get any souvenirs, Tee shirts, mugs, mouse mats etc.

All the best to my Crossfire buddies,
Andy, the English, American , Australian (according to Nick)

I can't express enough how much I absolutely enjoy these meets in the mountains each year and I hope everyone who came this time has left with that same feeling.
All of you who make time to pack the car and drive the hours to get here make these meets what they are.

I'm home now and hope to see many if not all of you back next year.

Saturday
My thanks to Franc Rausher for letting me drive his roadster with a stick all day
What a fun time and as I have said before my next Crossfire will be a roadster with a stick !!!
My thanks to Ray (Osofast2) for setting up our Wheels through time museum tour and leading our group
Also thanks to John (boilerupxfire) for arranging the sunset boat cruise on Fontana Lake to end the day.
Something to do every time now at the end of a day.

Sunday
My thanks to Evan (itsky) for taking me for an all day thrill ride in his very modded the SRT roadster named Natscha.

And to Michael (SRQ Fun) for leading the group

I got home tonite about 6:15PM. The Colorado bunch followed me to my Company and we did a little meet and greet tour, and then said our goodbye's. Yes, these were the same fools who followed me on Tellico road. I just cannot shake them!

Everyone was fine after they left my care. Itsky and his group will sleep over in Columbia MO tonite and reach their home states tomorrow.

I have to agree with my favorite Limey, AKING57, this was the best Dragon ever for me. Not so much on the Dragon driving, as I did very little. But, the people interactions for three days was easily the best ever.. Even the CROSSFIRES OFF ROAD" event became fun because of the people involved. And I count Andrew, and his adventurous outgoing attitude, to be amoung some of the best people I've ever met.

BTW, we had a boat load of first timers. Everyone of them added greatly to the fun. I hope none were scared away and all come back to help us terrorize the locals in Western NC.

BTW, our Hosts Jim and Trish were so happy to see us Friday at their luncheon., They actually want us to make it an annual event. So I am looking for other Gravel and Adventurous cow paths for us to try.

Look for Franc's Off Road Crossfire Adventures at the next Fall Dragon.

Crossfires at My friend Squerly's place in the North Carolina mountains near Franklin.. And yes, one of these things is not like the others.

That would be TOPLESS who showed up in a Volkswagen. His girlfriend was really cute so we let him stay.

Arrived at 7:30 last night safe and sound. Many thanks to everyone for the efforts to make this another fun weekend. As everyone has said without the other owners a TOD weekend wouldn't be the same, likely most of us would only return (alone) a only few times. Meeting or at least spending time with other people who we didn't know well was another highlight of the weekend. My dragon buddy rode home in the trunk until his next trip to the Smokey Mountains.

The drive home after Sunday lunch/dinner was a gas and one of my favorites. It will be one to drive again

Susan the horse is way up in Ohio! I got a picture but it's poor as I was driving and could only point the phone in that direction.

Franc you were correct with your weather prediction for Monday, clear sunny skies the whole way home.

Interestingly we passed 2 Crossfires on I75 S on the way home. Then, at a quick Wendy's stop, a fellow came up to Lisa (MSXFIRE) to say he owned a Crossfire as did his neighbor! We gave him the forum info as well as GLCO as he is close enough and has family in Jackson Mi. My point is if you consider the total production numbers of the XF and the ones lost to accidents, against the total types of cars one might pass on a highway, it's pretty neat to see 2 XF on a fall Sunday afternoon. Even nicer to know of 2 more in "our area".

Did anyone take pictures of the "goat trail" we ran on my Friday run down to Rainbow Springs?

I am launching an effort to seek out and destroy any evidence.

Been home a couple of days, but still enjoying the afterglow of a great weekend on the TOD. Food, friends and fast cars! Life is good. Thanks to Gary for his work; Evan for getting CICCI moving forward;Mark for showing Murfi and me a fun time on the "Devil's Triangle" which ironically has more Baptist church houses and evangelistic signs (albeit misspelled) than I have ever seen ANYWHERE! Thanks Michael for leading the other Tourist Class, overjoyed to see it went so well! Wish I could have gone on ALL the routes. Hopefully there is next year and beyond. What a great and diverse family we have. It was good to lead a group, lead a Bible study, meet new friends and laugh, laugh and laugh some more.

Here is a link to my photo site (in red below). Here you can view photos of the cars, people, wheels of time museum, and the waterfalls from Michael's run (even the ones you missed).

On my website they are in an album called "Crossfire Fall 2013 Dragon"

You can order prints in all sizes and even get Tee shirts, mugs, mouse mats and many more items.

I guess I ran the triangle twice in one weekend... I have anohter idea or two as well Jonathan, I'll be calling you over the next months to discuss ideas on another idea I had.

We can't just run the same routes year after year (even tho the newcomers would not mind!)
